Where do the V8 supercar engineers source their Pushrod 5.0s from now?As ford Aus had the last Windsors about in the earth didnt they? And Expensive Daewoo hasnt used a 5.0 Pushrod since the VTI.

BTW the Lexus V8 is a 4.2Litre now,was a 4L in the early import Lexii and the Soarer coupes. The Lexus LX470 or Landcruiser V8 have a 4.7L too.

The V8 rules state that the engines have to be 5.0L pushrod jobs. The yanks still make them both in Ford and GM versions.

As Turbo6man says, Mitsubishi and Toyota won't "invent" a 40 year old engine, and they have the GTP to race in now.

However, when the Ford and GM marketing boys get the quad-cam V8s into the mainstream production cars, you'd better believe that a rule change allowing them into the V8 Supercars is on the cards.

If that happens, then the Lexus V8 and (start a rumour here) an extra 2 cylinders onto a Mitsubishi 3.5litre V6, a la Pajero, and we have around 4.2 V8.........................................................
