Just Fitted Dump Pipe

Hey guys I just fitted a four inch dump pipe yesterday and my car doesnt seem to be running as good as it should be, any reasons for this? my exhaust is all custom so its not like I fitted it to a standed exhaust. Do I need to have it re tuned by my tuner?

can you please help as this is so stressful was so excited about getting and fitting the bloody thing that now iam really pissed off

You will need a retune to get it right.

It couldnt be the pipe could it?

a dump pipe is a dump pipe right?

its just annoying as my boost gauge shows its hitting full boost and holding just doesnt feel as quick.

is this because there is no backpressure now?

I posted a few weeks ago that my experience is that a large dump pipe will cost you mid range torque. My opinion is that is that a 4" dump pipes is better if chasing 350rwkw and up, otherwise a 3.5" would be a better overall solution.

The same goes for the rest of the exhaust.

Bigger is not always better.

I did hear the same thing... Bigger is not always better... a little confusing but speaking to people who have done the mods to there cars have had the same problem.

so what you guys are sayin is there is no really advange in having a four inch?

will a re tune fix this problem though? I always heard that with a bigger dump pipe you will get more power due to the turbo spooling better?

If you look at what thay are saying I think that the more power ie high rwkw you will loose the down low torque. I am faceing the same facts in my build it is a judgement that only can make. I know how tuff it can be.

well iv'e just booked it in at hp-f for them to work out tomorrow fingers crossed it all works out good,

So what was the result? Fixed? More power? Lose any midrange power or torque?
