The hot weather sucks for our cars with the stock intercooler. Winter is coming around so that should help until next summer when I think I will need to invest in an intercooler.

my car loses around 3psi in hot temps. On a warm day, it'll only boost to around 12-13psi, where as on a cooler day, 15-16psi is the norm in 4th and 5th gear. I can't wait till it's cooler again :spoton:

I find in hot weather to get the T moving you have to try harder... push the right foot a bit harder, hold it down for longer.... But on a cold night its effortless

Humidity is a bit of a red herring - because it makes us feel warm and uncomfortable one thinks it is the same for the engine in fact under certain conditions higher humidity can slow the onset of detonation allowing lightly more timing = a smig more timing + performance - in all likelihood insufficient to notice though.

Well in fact NO

The higher humidity allows less (air) oxygen to fill the same volume of space, the engine will then be down on power. In the scenario you put forward the higher humidity is just as likely to cause the detonation in the first place.

Water injection does work to prevent detonation but if the initial air mixture going into the engine is at a higher humidity then your flogging a dead horse.

NUP, high humidity kills power... that's why no one likes to dyno a car on a humid day...

Fallacy: humidity does not kill power, sounds more like the sort of folk lore that governs to many folks' minds. perhaps best left as another excuse for a poor dyno reading more like.

The impact is almost immeasurable; you are both making a link between high humidity = high temperature, which I did not in my post.

It is the temp first and then then altitude that will impact the charge density available far more than the presence of water vapour.

Dingah...

Just get the Stage 2 and you won't notice anything of what has been posted above.
