N/a Intake

Has anyone thought of or try'd moving the battery accross (like they do on the turbos)

and have the intake pipe coming over to the driver's side with a pod in an enclosed cai (like the turbos) sure it would be going over the exhaust manifold but it would be a smoother less interupted path.

Whats everyones thoughts??

What about the heat that would be obsorbed by the intake pipe fron the extractor??

It would get heat soaked I feel??

I don't think heat soak would be that greater issue doesn't seem to upset the turbos that much, however once the car is moving and air is being forced in from behind the headlight I don't think it would be that much of an issue.

The main thought behind it was to get rid of the big elbow to the throttle body that may cause some restriction.

worth giving a go I think, heat soak is a killer in all cars mate, but we'll never know till some one trys it.

Why not move your battery out hook up your CAI set up and whack in on a dyno, if it don't work put the battery back in.

Sound like a fun test.

Talk to G&D about your idea, they want to get into N/A's and may help you with it.

I think its another idea worth a look at, good luck and let us all know if theres some thing you need help with.

We also have some guys in Team N/A that are very handy with pipe work, why not ask them?

Not my area of expertise, but have any of the N/A brigade tried a Nizpro plenum?

I remember seeing a car at Nizpro at one of the dyno days that had a custom plenum on it... I think from memory it pulled around 200rwkw... it must have had cams and stuff to pull that kind of power but you never know it might be worth it...

Anyone done it?

I also remember seeing an old Skyline, R31, that had the factory RB30de (non-turbo) and it had one of the old school Nizpro VL Turbo RB30 plenums on it and Simon was saying it made for it's age, and the time some brilliant results...

that's a good idea. only problem, you have to have someone with good welding skills.

And that is pretty expensive if you don't get the gains out of it, but if you do, then the sky is the limit...

As I said, I'm no expert on the N/A side of things, but you never know until someone takes the plunge...
