Faulty washers will get you a canary mate, so if they try to weasel out of the warranty claim politely remind them, they sold you a car in an un roadworthy state.

  • I have the same problem in the ute sometimes. I found that it wasn't anything in the jet though. Sometimes the little filter on the pump gets clogged up with gunk and restricts the flow. Possibly the

Straight out of the Manual.

1. Remove the left front wheel

2. Remove the left front stone guard

NOTE: To prevent spilling windshield washer fluid, drain the windshield washer reservoir before

removal.

4. Remove windshield washer reservoir

1. Disconnect the electrical connector.

2. Remove washer cap from reservoir so that washer cap does not become obstructive at windshield washer reservoir removal stage.

3. Disconnect the washer hose from the washer-pump.

4. Remove the two bolts & nut.

5. Lower windshield washer reservoir from vehicle.

Hope it helps.

Had this issue, so diggin up an old thread.

Have tried the pin trick, and also put pressure back through to make sure water was flowing (blew down the hose -inb4 nsfw comment)

I'm not hearing the electrical motor going though that powers the water reservoir. So something tells me it could be the motor in it that's dead?

Does anyone know anything about this and if so, what are my options? Is there a fuse for it that could be blown?

fuse, test for voltage at the pump connector ,

multimeter or 12v lightglobe

I found putting a couple of shots of Grappa gets it going real quick.

If the jets are blocked, don't stick a pin in it. You could push the crap further down the pipe.

Just boil the kettle and pour it into the water bottle. Close the lid and give it a minute. Then use your washers...easy peasy.

If you do this once a week you will get water on the window before you get the wipers scratching the crap out of your windshield.

Do the same thing if the suds dispenser on your gurney pluggs up

Wow that makes sense - not only does the warmer water soften up the plastics to let detriment pass through better but it also makes it easier to dissolve stuff that will dissolve in warmer water.

I like the drop of detergent idea as well. The stuff the put in the concentrated dish washing bottles nowadays is potent on grease.

This being the wet season down south - very topical :beerchug:

Seems like it's the water pump for the washers that's broken as it's not doing anything at all when the lever gets pulled back.

That, or the lever on the steering wheel is broken.

Under warranty though so will have them replace it.

Watch using detergent. That blocks them as well. Funnily the best thing to use, but it stinks is 3/1 water and cleaning vinegar.

Just use water in them or washing shoite designed for washers. If it's filthy wash the car ir use the servo window cleaner.

If you keep the jets clear, the water hits the screen before the blades scratch it.
