The one real positive I see here is...... your 400m PB will probably drop by .2sec by the time you get your license back, due to less weight :roflmbo:

being a diabetic I'd be careful of diets mate, as I'm sure you're aware. The best way to accelerate weight loss is by building muscle. Don't really need weights to do it either, although they are the best method.

I used to body build, and I've also studied sports science/nutrition/coaching at uni, so if you need any advice or help, feel free to shoot me a PM.

There's a lot of sh*t on and off the net, even magazines aren't that accurate in their methods. The fitness industry in general is a very very big money making gimmick. Everyone knows the basics of weight loss.. energy consumption vs energy expenditure.

Congrats on the weight loss bud, its a great feeling. I've ballooned out to 100kgs from my previous training weight of 75kgs :crybaby: my fault though, as I stopped training and started eating terribly.

I recently went to the local gym shop and bought myself a bench, 2 x 17inch dumbell bars, and 16 x 5kg plates. It's all I'll need to get myself back into great shape. All up it cost me $350 (a bit exxy) but considering I won't need to be a member of a gym again, and it'll last me a life time, plus get me back in shape, it's money well spent :spoton:

In the mean time, some simple push ups, chin ups will be enough to help you along and build some muscle. Personally, don't waste your time doing sit ups. They don't build muscle effectively, they don't burn enough energy.. I used to have great abs, and never did one sit up.

Good luck with the continued weight loss mate, and hopefully in 3 months or so I'll be able to report back with results like yours :spoton: I'm going to be doing some before/after shots of myself, as I really want to start up some personal training using my own training methods down the track.. I suppose I better stop eating crap, and start the work outs!!

10 or 12 or 20 more like it!!!

fark blonksta... I weighed 78 kgs when I was in the army in 91-92... was way too skinny for my frame... while I was doing muay thai and ice hockey (both at the same time for many years) I was at my peak fitness and by far the best shape I have ever been... During that time I weighed between 88 and 93kgs... hence the wish to lose 10-12 kgs

you could gain a few pounds yourself :crybaby:

I trained with the Hallgarths we had a gym in coffs but had to come to brisbane to fight...

Sparred and trained with Scott Butler and Scott Bannon, (the three scotts)

Left Muay Thai in 2004 to concentrate on Boxing as although my legs were weapons the boys with the golden gloves would inflict more pain..

Trained PCYC Coffs, Had 3 amatuer fights before moving to Brisbane..

In brisbane I trained down at Gumdale 2 nights a week... (Muay Thai) Up north here I moved to a place that has a full Muay Thai establishment 2 doors away... Have entered into the the local walkup fight at the show ground for the 22nd however I dont think me knees will hold out and am thinking about going back to boxing...

My Girlfreind in Coffs runs the womens Mauy Thai classes 3 nights a week....

Best way to stay in shape I reckon..
