June 12, 200719 yr #62 I'll have two of these when you sort out the issues you have getting them to work properly. It'll be good to know what they can read, I hope the read out, boost, oil pressure, engine temp, I couldnt care about the rest, but engine oil temp would be good too!!! June 12, 200719 yr #63 This has probably been asked but do they come with pod and can it be adapted for boost?
June 12, 200719 yr #64 I was told the CANBus is too slow and won't be any good since it won't refresh quick enough.
June 15, 200719 yr #65 Author Hi Guys, sorry that this thread has become rather slow. I am still awaiting the Can Bus version to come to me from the states. The company that supplies them has been a little slow at replies and therefore I am finding it hard to communicate.I have chased them a few times and they advise that they are being tested in the states before release in Oz, although this was some time ago.I will shoot off an email to them advising that we are all awaiting these gauges and see what I get.Rob.
January 24, 200818 yr #66 Author Hi All,Just thought I would post up a couple of pics of the gauges installed into the Phoon.Unfortunately the gauges are currently iimperial but will get changed over as soon as metric is available.I think they look great and are much more usefull than the phoon oil and boost gauge.Ran down the quarter mile on the weekend and the gauges are around .4 of a second faster than actual times, good for testing though and 0-100 times are acurate.Let me know what you think.Rob.
January 24, 200818 yr #68 So they finally have made them.....a year later.I have been waiting for them for quite a while, might need to order me a set.How does the ODBII cable sit behind the fusebox ?Also is it hard to run the cable to the gauges ?
January 24, 200818 yr #69 Author The OBD plug is a right angle plug so it sits nicely behind the fuse panel without any fouling. The cable was a bit of a pain to run as you need to get it up to the top of the dash. I took out the ICC and it was then easily accessable. Then just cable tied the cable to existing cable in the car.I got them on the web at XTreme Auto Gauges Australia.Rob.
