18l / 100km

Just got back from a two hour trip, filled up before leaving to come home and averaged 10.7l/100, 97km/h. Tried to keep the cruise on 110km/h but with poke ar$es doing 80-100km/h in 110km/h zones really gets your goat so there was quite a bit of passing outside the passing zones. Quite happy with those results. I'm sure it'd be better cruising alone with nobody to hold you up on slightly longer cruises however.

So what I am seeing is even a stock Xr6T gets worse fuel economy than my LS1 with a massive cam, making 290rwkW. Melbourne to Sydney I make it past Goulbourn averaging 120km/h -> 9l/100km and in the very worst city driving I get 17-18l/100.

Hmm not impressed Jan.

That fuel economy is pretty good, how is the oil economy?

Mine uses 500ml per 10000km. I'm happy. Another guy with an LS1 just got a genuine 835km from a 75l tank of gas, and I've gotten 750km before filling up and had 6l left.

I did the math the other day (simple as I have a fuel card printout) and over 120,000 km, I have averaged 11.5 lt/100. I do drive like a b@stard however, most of my trips are between Syd and Cbr. My average speed on the car readout is 70 kph.

I suspect if you have a look at your average speed, it will be hovering somewhere south of 30kph and that is where you are really going to be getting crappy economy.

My average is 11.6L/100km with an average speed of 47km/h.

that's pretty good!

mine is 12.7 an avg speed is 55

HA HA, beat ya both, 9.2 at average of 67kph, man I love my car 425rwhp and 30mpg, how good is that.

These cars run rich from the factory, period. Modified or rather tuned properly and given the same driving ie cruise or non-WOT, they'll be far more fuel economical.

And the only accurate way to measure fuel usage is 'litres in' vs 'kms travelled', which few have posted here.

But even the edited guys are saying 10-11 l/100km, which seems still disappointing. Off boost, cruising, 6spd, VVT 6 cyl should be getting excellent economy.

Mr Maj, you say a massive cam, I take it then you have Edit at the very least, probably a second ot larger CAI, extractors and big exhaust, all of which help improve the efficency of an engine, and you get good results, like yourse, weel done, but stocko car, being driven in crap triffic is a bit differnt to a well tuned car.

my ute when on highway mode and only running 290rwkw, (no edit but xede) would give me a ral 8.2 l per 100, not off the dash display, but fuel in tank, did it all the time, around town was 11l per 100k, now it uses alittle more as its makeing more power and im asking for boost earlier on, which means more fuel, but hey, Fuel is Cheap, so who cares.
