Generic Edit Tunes On A F6

Hey guys just wonderin if I buy a capa flash for my phoon and just use the generic tune on it what sort of power gains are expected.

I know that the majority of people will say that a custom tune is the way 2 go but I wanted to know how the generic tunes go on a phoon.

Currently she runs 228rwkw stock and she is a Ba.

Is 250+ asking 2 much with just using the generic tune.

Reason why I am posting this is I hear about xr6t's just using the generic tune and they gain fairly good results with stock internals.

Just wanting to know how many phoon owners went down this path and if they thought it was worthwhile just using the generic tunes.

I expect that this topic has probably been raised before so sorry if this is a repost

mate, not sure you will get many informative replies, as most F6 owners have custom tunes as a minimum. Not even sure if I have heard of any running straight plug and play at all.

That said the F6 is a nice base to start with worth investing the $ for a custom tune IMO, propably save you some hassles

Many tuners would be able to send you a box with a generic 'F6 Tune' in it.

Results are a bit better than 'generic' T results..

The thing about getting a custom tune from a good tuner is that they will be able to identify any little minor things that might be going off with your girl, and fix it.... for a couple of hundred dollars more believe me it is worth every cent. So it ends up being a lot more than just a tune.

I ran a generic tune in my T for about 6 months before a custom tune. It was good but nothing compared to the tune where the settings were customised to the car.

The extra coin is worth it.

Gents, I agree. But a 'generic' F6 tune sent from a tuner will be better than a CAPA generic tune, agreed..

Wog has done tunes over oz, and can send tunes to suit, Xtreme is the same..

My mail order wog fixit tune went 12.3 @ 117 on street tyres. Yes the tune was originally done on the dyno, but the base tune was the same as other cars started with, and tuners all always willing to touch up where necessary. There isn't that kind of support from a CAPA generic tune..

thanks for that buf-foon I started to think that this was the case as no one was replying to my post.

Only problem is that I live in brisvegas and understand there is hardly any tuners here.

But in the meantime I thought that if I could get the generic tune runnin in it until I could save some pennies and take a trip to sydney just to get that little bit more go. ever since I went for a ride in shanes foon it has made me want to start getting it done as it really showed how slow it is stock and how much potential it has for sooooooooo much more power.(I shouldn't say slow but u get used to the power it has)

My main goal for me is about 300rwkw and im wonderin how much it will cost me so I can think of a good excuse to my girlfriend why it is a good investment

I cannot recommend either, but I am sure that someone will give them a tick.
