August 1, 200620 yr #1 Well, got the ole hacksaw and tig out today, did the chopand swap with the throttle body / intake mount on the stock manifold.there was a little bit of fiddling around, and a fiar bit of die grinder use once welded to blen the inner area, but it cam up pretty good, ended up with about .020" of set over the manifold, but I will stick it in the mill and fix that up.over very happy, now need a trial fit and make some plumbing to suit.can anyone tell me where the plumbing is coming out on the passanger side? is it under the headlight or beside the radiator, the car will have a modded wog cooler with the outlet turned to suit. Thanks
August 1, 200620 yr #2 Nice cut and shut!!Regards to the wog cooler, he does the Wog cooler number 2 or 3 which has the offset outlet like Nizpro have setup.. No need for welding etc.. Ideal for tracing the plumbing under the headlight.
August 1, 200620 yr #3 Thought about doing this but I think there is going to be a lack of room between the throttle body and computor.Ian
August 1, 200620 yr #4 Thought about doing this but I think there is going to be a lack of room between the throttle body and computor.Ian←My concers also. The captive bolts on the pcm don't help, ( for Ford that is.. ) If these were turfed, and the wiring extended, it would be a nice setup.. ala Drif6 Good entry point for the charge air too.
August 1, 200620 yr #5 Personally Id just fill in the top section and cut into the lower section, change direction and mount the throttle body ender the manifold. Then it’s straight to the front with heaps of room to spare.I nice new chamber with no holes in it, to go on top, and “air in” to be from the underside of the lower intake manifold right between 3 & 4. A few mods to the wiring harness to accommodate the new throttle body position and jobs done.
August 1, 200620 yr #6 Author yep, I know what your thinking, the ecu is 200mm from the C/L of the intake, the throttle body lill be 105mm to out edge, a tight 90ish deg elbow will be required, I am hoping a reducer silicon elbow will work, but if required I will make an alloy elbow that will reposition the throttle body away from the ecu, I dont reall want to do this as it will add volume after the throttle butterfly, a trial fit will tell me more.I will post pics of that soon.
August 1, 200620 yr #7 What about a welded 45deg off the plenum with new face plate to mount theTB wouldn't add to much more the the plenum volume ect. Just an idea to move it away from the pcm.

Just an idea to move it away from the pcm.←that's what I will do if required, probably more like 60-75 deg would be required, If I have to I will also make it bolt on, so it can be modded etc if needed instead of weld on.I have some 100 x 100m alloy I an turn into the plates, just need anice tight 75mm ID mandrel bend in alloy, any ideas where?
August 1, 200620 yr #9 Eugene,I have the Hyperflow stage 3 inlet piping kit which moves the throttle body away from the existing plenum and the setup has worked very well for me.As they say - results speak for themselves and 11.3 on the quarter means it must work!
