Steering Noise

I have recently noticed that my T has started getting a rather noticable in & out of car clicking/tapping noise related to the steering. It is more prevalant after the car have driven for quite a few km and is warm. It doesn't seem normal at all, any suggestions before I book it in for warranty, I don't trust my local dealer to know or find out what the problem is.

Is also normal for these cars to rev quite high (1500) for a second or so when 1st started?

I have a 2003 BA I with 36K on the clock, stock.

Sounds like a common fault in the steering rack.. Its a warranty fix where they put shims between the steering rack and cross member

Yeah nothing to worry bout re revs. When I start my car first thing it get up round 1500 rpm. Just let it idle for a bit and the revs will drop below 1k.

Most of cars revs jump up when cold, settles down when the car warms up a bit. When I just got my car I noticed that and I took it straight away to ford and they said its normal nothing to worry about.

Ford put shims in my steering rack and its still making clicking noises.
