  1. Happy Birthday Mercury Silver!

  2. Low K's yep, but my EL has 350K and my 03 Dunnydore ute has 100K. Extended warranty...heck I was lucky the "hand brake" let me have the T in the first place let alone any extras.
  3. I hope I don't need to do that, but may try that if some rubber conditioning doesn't work. I had a quick quizz this evening at the seals and none seem to have shrunken or moved, not like my old dunny dore ones did, heck I remember having to pull them half way back up the window.
  4. Just wondering if any else has experienced what my wife is complaining bitterly about at the moment. I have an 12/03 T with approx 43K on the clock, which has developed a rather annoying noise at the top of the rear windows which may or may not be the door seals leaking or letting in air. There is no build up of dust and there doesn't appear to be any area that seems to not look to be contacting. It is very annoying though. The car spends most of its time in a fully enclosed garage and never sees any real extended time in the sun during the summer months so I'm not that convinced the seals would be in any way worn due to sunlight/heat exposure. any suggestions would be appreciated.

    My Rant

I had a similar experience when I was in the Navy. I had actually lent/left my car with some toe rag when I was on Xmas leave in Queensland. It was only a VK but was in near showroom condition, insurred for one week and my first nice car. To cut a long story short and a whole bunch of lies less than she produced, I got my insurance barely. It took nearly a year. All the while she was still on the same ship. I wanted to kill her & do some very nasty things to her SV5000 at the time. I never did though, I believe what goes around comes around and I'm sure life has fukhed her over somehow. I learnt one massive thing out of the whole thing though and it still stands with all of my mates to this day. If they jump in my car I get the keys to theirs & vicky verka. If there are no keys of any value to swap then there is no drive simple as that. This is a hard lesson you will learn here but look at it this way buddy, you will never have this happen again, and if you are lucky you have manged to do it while you are young like myself and in ten years time you wont have even missed the money.
  6. I can see all the headlines now.FORD ANNOUNCES RETURN TO SERIES PRODUCTION FORD PHASE V GTHO RELEASED SUPERCAR SCARE - 180MPH SEDANS (Harold Scruby Reports) GTHO PHASE VI PROGRAM CANCELLED FORD WITHDRAWS FROM ALL FACTORY BACKED RACING IN AUSTRALIA FORD DROPS V8 Lumpy ← I could live with that just to get my grubby little fingers on a 'Phase V'. Problem is Ford Australia has been in the shadow of Expensive Daewoo for so long they have forgotten how to take the big stick to them. In any case the whole sport has gone stale. I say bring back the other makes of cars and classes and make it interesting again. A bombed XR6T screaming down Conrod Straight...............if only Avesco was listening to the fans instead of the money weilding sponsors who are only there because of us anyway.
  7. How the hell can that ugly *beep* get a missus? Prolly some bogan from mount druitt who drives a VB with HSV stickers all over it... ← My mistake, I meant his mum! Sorry about that!
  8. Can't afford a HQ but they can afford to buy the stocker and put body kits/badges & other try hard crap on it in a wannabe attempt to own a car that is as common as Rick Kelly's missus!
  9. I couldn't agree more with your comment. I'm not a Lowndes fan but feel he was robbed to a degree. A blind man could have seen what was going to happen in the final race, race 2 was the 1st phase. As it is in country areas we only get V8 supercars when footy or cricket isn't on. I'm not with Bigpond like at least 50% of the rest of Australia and they don't show it on Fox. All I can say is thank God Ambrose starts in the Busch series next year, and I'll get to see every single race. I won't be tuning back into V8 supercars, I'm sick of the Expensive Daewoo v Ford crap anyway. Add some other makes back into it and make it interesting again.......Like I can see that happening.
  10. The more I looked at it the more I didn't like it. As has been said previously, I also agree it has an identity problem. Still Expensive Daewoo are on a winner here for boring fleet/lease vehicles. My money is on the fact that sales of this new model will drop dramatically as the Average Australian family is struggling to come to terms with ever increasing fuel prices and thirsty consumption of the big 6 and 8's. Sadly I don't think they are going to be alone, it will be the same story for Ford's Falcon. I believe we are looking at the last era of these cars for the same sorts of reasons their are only 4 Phase IV's in exsistance. The wheel turns and nothing really changes, just the view!
  11. Thanks.... Any idea about the revs!
  12. I'm half way there to the left. Count me in if 30 doesn't rain down on a young parade! I'll bring beer! Are wives/missus going to be excluded. If so I'm going to need a good excuse to obtain a leave pass for such an excursion.
  13. I have recently noticed that my T has started getting a rather noticable in & out of car clicking/tapping noise related to the steering. It is more prevalant after the car have driven for quite a few km and is warm. It doesn't seem normal at all, any suggestions before I book it in for warranty, I don't trust my local dealer to know or find out what the problem is. Is also normal for these cars to rev quite high (1500) for a second or so when 1st started? I have a 2003 BA I with 36K on the clock, stock.
  14. No Ford owner should ever, and I mean ever push their car anywhere. You never know when a Expensive Daewoo could drive by. Such things are not meant to be.
  15. My Brother in Law (Simon Black) tints for Zupps as his own business (Still I think?, would be able to find out.) Around Capalaba/Cleveland area and if I still lived on that side would have nobody else Tint my car. Does do weekend jobs.
  16. You'll like it alot at first, and then it starts getting under your skin and you'll want to keep it forever then! If your oldngrey at least you didn't get a pearlane.
  17. I don't like the rear door config at all. The whole look of the car has me feeling that Expensive Daewoo are not far from birthing their own AU Series 1. A sad day for any Dunnydore owner that will be. "Expensive Daewoo insiders say it looks like an A6 Audi".........yeah righto, I say my car resembles an Aston Martin DB9!
  18. You see dat sh*t niga, we is gangstaz dog! Look at dat ya'll, who dat ho!

    Hey

If you can, go the EL. I Have one of these as well as my T and it is fantastic. The EL is the last of that line of Palcons so I reckon it is the best in terms of a Ford soughting all known issues out! Get it converted to Gas and your laughing, I pay 78c a litre for gas over here and it is still worth it. Comfy Mum and Dad type car that looks nice and goes well. They also look better than the AU in my opinion. Although I did like to 2 AU's I had. They are really comfy to drive specially on long kays.
  20. Wonder if they'd mind if I rang up for them and got the $40 bucks, err umm caaaaarrrrrton. Hiddeous, I'm under the impression that the sort of people who have these sorts things in their front yards aren't that clued up in life. :auto: Unlike a middle class bandwagoner like myself!
  21. Is this super bad?........................................Yes!!!!
  22. Mercury Silver

    Hey

Never, and I mean never admit to owning one of them thingy's. Say it's your missus car prior to meeting you or something like that! Quick, hurry up and get yourself a T, your image needs repairing.
  23. Being an outa towner. I'll have to pass on this one. Saturday suits better as Sunday is the drive home day for me. Am definately keen to come along in the future though.
  24. Wait a minute.........That's where the Burbs live!
