Urgent Warning About Bogus Smses

There is a scam out whereby a service or someone calls your mobile briefly to generate a "missed call" and if u call the number back u pay a lot apparently. A friend emailed me about this today and I got one of these fake calls tonite.

I was rung by the one in bold.

if you get a missed call from one of the following numbers, don't call it

back.

if you do, you will be charged $50 as it is an internet number...it says

you have won $40 and to call another number....then you will get slapped

with another $50 amount.

Yeah ive had it. You call back and it says to call a 1900 number. Only if you call that number is when you get charged.

Ahh, well its not too painful then...I dont think too many would dial the 1900 number in that situation. Well kids might...and maybe the odd VL turbo owner.

I'm in victoria and the call was logged today at 8.30am..I just deleted it.
