Posted 29/05/06 12:43 PM Posted 29/05/06 12:43 PM Guys, question on camshafts for the T...Has anyone changed their T's camshaft's spec's? Are the standard factory jobbies as far as we can go for lift / duration etc? Has anyone tried or inquired down this route?Has this been discussed anywhere on the forum previously?Any replies welcome.....

Posted 29/05/06 12:53 PM Posted 29/05/06 12:53 PM From what I have read stock cams are good up to 400rwkw... above this you probably need to point your questions towards bcl or maybe Nizpro as they have quite a bit of R&D with regards to cams above this power level...Jack

With the cam change you might want a bit more lift, rather than too much duration. In terms of revs I'm really pushing it to support 7500 revs, and that requires far stronger rods than what most people are using for rod replacement (read very expensive).Brian

Brian - appreciate your anology of the turbo "doing the work" - just wondering that, if this is a conservative grind, there may be gains in mid range through variation in design in conjunction with exhhaust and IC etc etc. I did read somewhere sometime a couple of years ago that the standard grind of the T cams are fairly reasonable, but have never found any Ford "specs" as such. Anyone know what these are? Thanks for your input - excellent. John
