My mate works at a car yard and he said they have sold a few xr6t which have come back with a sheared front crank shaft pully. He said that Ford said it was common. I told him I have never heard of it happening before. He is a biased Expensive Daewoo man though which may explain things.

Most of the quickest T's in the country are owned by members on this forum and if they havnt come across this problem (unless they're not telling) then it sounds like :welcome2: One would think that the higher powered cars that get driven hard would be the first to encounter these sort of problems, and I for one havnt heard of any.

I think he is having a go at you before our motor blow up because of pushing to much power on standard bottom end we did 117,000 km's and did not have any problems and I know there are a few on here that have done a lot more with out problems like that.

If my memory is correct, around mid 2003 there was a rectification check on a series of builds (Including mine at the time) where the crank pulley fixing was suspect. On some vehicle it required the pulley to be replaced which was about a four hour job.

Maybe this was what he was speaking about.

Sounds like lots of problems Ford puts down to "Oh, this is a common Ford problem", just to palm you off, as if everyone is experiencing it.

Have never heard of it here though

Sounds like

What are Typhoon Spark Plugs?  (in your sig)

They are the same as normal xr6t plugs only a grade or two colder.

I will have to show this post to him next time his around. I think he is just making up stories to try and make Ford look sh*t as deep inside he knows they are becoming better than Holdens.
