No, it's worse when people have no idea how to quote.

I used to sometimes fix up incorrect quotes, but some people are just too lazy to fix it themselves.

Brian

I'll put my hand up for that one Brian :smilielol:

I'm not lazy, just genuinely stuff up qoutes and don't know how to fix them, won't even go into trying to attach images I have on my harddrive :smilielol:

Shaz, multiple quoting maybe needed ... I.e. when you're trying to answer 4 people in one post (which seems like the right thing to do as opposed to posting 4 times)

unfortunately, instead of just cutting the a portion of the quote that you are directly going to answer or respond to... people just grab the whole post and all subsequent ones making this jumbled mess of crap...

I am with you Matto..

Less quote, quote, quote

And more valuable content.. If poeple want to engage in general conversation perhaps they should try MSN (again)

Most forums only quote the last post...

Bandwidth and site suffers.

Because - then you might have to go back and re-read bits of the posts to work out the chain. I agree - dont quote quote - but a bit of quote puts it in context and avoids confusion.

So... when we spot quote quoting - shall we call the poster a 'Quote Bit*h?'

You don't have to quote ALL of the posts you could always trim it back.

I often fix up quotes that aren't done correctly. Brian's right, it's not hard to click edit and fix it up.

I do this all the time and most times get it right... However, if I do stuff it up and the quote turns out so its not in its coloured dialogue box, then I have no idea how to fix it.

yes, trimming is the way to go... if you stuff up the trim and arent very computer savvy, then you cant fix it... I have no idea how to anyway anyway :spoton:

what to do? what to look for to fix it??
