Ex Cop Car Bad?

My T happens to be an ex Cop car. I got it for heaps cheaper because of this factor, although recently people have been trying to tell me that's cause the coppers would have driven it hard...

I think they wouldnt have driven it any harder than I would anyways and at least I know that it has been serviced at every interval cause coppers dont care about the money for their services, after all they dont pay for it..

I got the premium brakes too, so for the price that I paid for it, I am happy...

What do you guys think?

If it run properly then it's all good...

I doubt the coppers would push the car much harder than some of the ppl here do... and also they would have been maintained at every possible point in time (last thing they want is for something to go wrong en-route to an emergency...)

The consensus on these forums seems to be that the Ts need to be run in hard to get the best from them. So that is probably a good thing.

Also, I believe that in the ACT a police vehicle goes in for a thorough inspection if it has been involved in a high speed pursuit or similar.

And yeah, their servicing is usually spot on given the sort of work they MAY be called on to do.

There are a few other threads around about ex-cop cars, and I don't recall anyone else making any real noise about problems with them.

It just seems that people are all excited when I tell them about the T and then "ex-cop car " gets mentioned and they are all... oooh well it has been thrashed around then?...

Only thing that you would have to worry about is aesthetics.

Mine is also an ex cop car. Doesn't really worry me because I know it wasn't highway patrol and is from the country. And yes, the premium brakes are an added bonus.

If you want to un-copper it, try getting rid of the red & blue flashies on the roof.

Oh - and probably the big POLICE sign on the side wouldn't help much either.....
