Truck Or Ship

After 3 months of waiting, my car left the factory on Sunday!!!!

Well, I rang up this morning to see where my car was, whether it has arrived yet or not!!!

No, it hasn't arrived. The dealer told me that if it happened to make it onto a truck it should be here in the next couple of days. However, it may have got on a ship which means it may not be here until the end of next week.

What a joke!!!

I live in Brisbane and I was wondering if anybody up here had their cars delivered by ship. This doesn't seem right to me. If you did how long did it take?

I also have a feeling that the options that are on my car are going to be wrong. I rang the dealer just before it started being built to see whether everything was in order, and I had standard audio, manual, no dvd player. I ordered premium sound, auto and a dvd player. So this is going to be interesting.

I haven't heard of delivery by ship before, obviously to Tas or NZ but that's all.

A few guys here have had their cars turn up with the wrong options even wrong colour so good luck.

Yep, they are right. My ute came up here by ship.

I even saw it as it was driven off into the holding yard at the wharf at Hamilton. Apparently, there is less chance of damage this way, but also quicker???

My ute took 14 days from completion (knowing it was sitting in a holding yard at Ford) to delivery at Torque Ford at Brendale. Toll IPEC say 10 days to the dealer - and they used every one of those 10 days let me assure you!

One thing I can tell you that a driver from TOLL informed me is that you can call them anytime and quote your SIDO and they will tell you where your car is. My dealer didn't even know that.

Don't do what I did and get your hopes up for an early delivery as it will get shot to pieces.

So you ordered 3 options and Ford managed to get the opposite of your requests on all 3? That would be amazing

No, I ordered a lot more options but that was all I was going to bore you with!!!

I don't have time to go into right now.

I'm still trying to find someone who can tell me what options I have got on the ford system because I'm dying to know whether they have stuffed up or not.

Check for rust spots. Make sure they haven't taken the car for a dip in Moerton Bay just for the hell of it. :lol: j/k dude. Hope everything you've ordered is present and accounted for.

Ship??? Hmmm, oh well, at least there is little chance of the ship getting raided and your XR6T being hijacked at Dubbo : ) Like that never happens with the truck convoys. Heard of a few BA's going 'walkies'.

Just called Ford and our car is currently in holding yard

at Toll, Brisbane.

Ford have told me date for delivery to dealer is 6th May.

Not too bad considering a 14th April build date, I thought.

Does any one in Brissy have an idea where the holding

yard is for Toll ?

I'm led to believe there are several, but could Hamilton

Wharf be the one I'm looking for ?

I really feel sorry for all you guys waiting for delivery on your T,Wondering if all options ticked are going to be right on your car.Went through exactly the same problems with delivery dates and options asked for through my stupid order taker[sorry salesman].You have to really ask yourself what is so hard about taking a order and getting it right specially when you do it all for them.I ordered my car with all accesories off the Ford site and they still got it wrong let alone there non existant after sales service.

The only person who could give me any information that was correct was a very nice ladie called Katherine Murray.

can I ask what dealer in brisbane it was

mine came from brissy and it came by ship too

two weeks before delivery I rang ford

and they told me that my ute was finished but they couldnt find it

my reply was so its finished and youve lost it

there reply (no we just cant find it)

it arrived with correct colour and options

If it helps, I was in the same boat. Ford quotes a delivery time to the dealers from Melbourne to be within 8 days. Mine took 8 days but it did arrive..
