hi, what tyres do you all find are giving the best traction in 18's for every day use, I am looking for something that is ahead of the dunlopes that come on the typhoon, but still can take daily use, and prices and where they can be purchased,

chasing something in between the nitto's and the standed tyres.

I think one of the best tyres you could get are the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. I have them on the rear of my car and they are awesome. In normal conditions I can launch @ 2000rpm with my 330rwkw tune and not loose traction. They give a little chirp on the 1-2 change but keep holding on.

They are around $780 a Corner.

If, like me, you want to compramise ( I do 65k's a year ) and don't want to lash out $8k a year in tyres, then there must be something else.

I am looking at Khumo KU-19's for around $290 a corner. Aparently better than Dunlops, but not as good as say a Bridgestone S03 or Yokahamas' new AVS ( but they both wear quicker, both $500 a corner )

I might be getting them fitted as early as the end of the month, I'll let you know what they are like.

I still like the idea of good tyres on spare rims.

If you are interested in getting something with excellent traction without paying 500 per corner then I'd definately suggest the S03. Not as good as the Michilen Pilots but one of the best tyres I've driven on. I can get them for around the $370 mark and they last me around 25000 k's.
