Fairmont?Cheers <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I don't know for sure, but they are probably same size as the XR ones, but in a softer material.I fitted my standard XR6T bar to our AU II Fairmont V8 Wagon (essentially the same front end) and the XR6T bar is noticeably stiffer than the original Fairmont bar, despite them being same diameter (24 mm), and to the naked eye, looking identical.Looks like it is not as simple as just looking at the diameter of the bars Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/22256-stiffened/page/2/#findComment-331031 Share on other sites

Romulus Donating Members 1,279 Member For: 20y 6m 8d Location: Perth Posted 22/01/06 03:28 AM Share Posted 22/01/06 03:28 AM I ordered the adjustable front and rear bars as well and installed them yesterday, whilst doing some other work on the car.The difference in handling is huge, and I haven't tried them on the stiffer setting yet. I'd imagine I'll only use the stiffer setting when competing in a sprint event. Can't wait to try it with some RE55 tyres.A poor bugger in a red VZ SS discovered how well my car handled and accelarated last night when he tried to keep up with me around a corner - what started as a 4-5 car lenght distance before the corner became a 15-20 car lenght distance within a short period of time. He gave up tailing me after that The sway bar upgrade complements the springs and shocks I have now. Speaking to Peter from Wilkinson's Suspension in Bayswater (WA) he's told me that King have now released a 550lb and 800lb spring for the BA, but with the effectiveness of the stiffer bar, heaver springs wouldn't be suitable for the street.
