My T had just hit the 1600K mark, so it was only a matter of time before my first challenge on the roads, didn't realise it would be a close one with an old car, I think I just underestimated the VL Turbo's potential.

The guy in the VL was stalling his machine up heaps for a good jump and I knew he would get a nice start.

No way in the world I'm stalling my new baby up at the moment, I'm not out to destroy the new ZF box just yet.

Anyway we both launch on green, he got his nose in front until I'd hit 5000rpm in 1st, 2nd sprung to life right through to 5500rpm which I pulled in front by 1/2 cars length, only in 3rd did I really start to pull away when I decided get the foot off the gas. I didn't want anything to do with it by this stage.

I had traction control switched on, however didn't notice it kick in at all and used D Performance mode, I was just really surprised at his effort, I had given no respect to the VL T before this.

Damn it was an adrenalin rush - 1st did me proud it's just a solid launch gear ratio, though somehow I've walked away from this scratching my head as to it being an old fart car and it was keeping up with my new sparkling T.

There are quite a few quick VL's about geo dude, it sounds like it was tickled up somewhat.

The VL Turbo's are the T's of the 80's and 90's.

There are still some bloody quick ones around. Street trim I think the quickest ever was in the 10's.

Crikey cobber, theyre not made of balsa wood! You should give it at least one good solid squirt per trip once the vehicle is warm.

Bloody quick alright, I thought that guy had my number and with my wife sitting next me, my pride was on the line... more to the point, my cocky Expensive Daewoo muncha talk was under fire and she would never have let me live it down!!!

All respect to the VL T's from here on, I'm bloody happy I've been broken in now and no longer a Virgin Ken - in this I've realised just how hard my stock T goes and wouldn't even consider an edit right now.

I'm ready to fire up with a roll on challenge next, whoo hoo!!!

Mate mate mate, have a think about it,why did this POS challenge you???

cos it was a stock car off the showroom floor

cos he's never seen a T befor

stalling the titters off it for a good launch

Cos it has been modded, that's why.

cos the T has been around for a while now,I hardly ever get challenged any more

clubbies run for the hills when they see a T,the only car that will give you a run, apart from the dcikhead factor,is a modded car

So you did well my son,and if you drove it like you stole it,it would go even better

Mines a 03 Feb model, every man and his dog would give you a go back then, but the word soon got out :pooh::nono::blush: ,dont *beep* with these things unless you got the goods...

vik...so next bomb that wants to give you a run...be prepared

Imagine what a modded T is like to drive then.

Man I can only imagine right now, I'm still adjusting to the balls I've recently got and they are big balls at that. Driving a modded T would blow me away completely.

Only thing I could have done differently would have been to switch off traction control, switch off the air con, remove the spare tire and lastly kick my wife out (not that she is heavy). I drove my T as hard as I possibly could and had no more to give even if I needed it, so yeah you could say I drove it like I stole it and loved it!

The VL dude was out to show me up, thank god I hit the gas hard on launch or this thread would have started like... I just got whooped, I have no $$$'s after xmas but I need to buy an edit with our mortgage money NOW!!!

vik u should realise that not everyone races to win, and "make the other guy run for the hills".. people race for fun, they dont care if the other car is quicker, they want to see how they would go against it.

its not as serious as some of you guys see it..
