I don't think it would be a very good idea to drag on the generic tunes.

The current generation of Generic tunes are MUCH better than that. Looks like its bouncing off the overboost limiter. Food for thought.

I was sure that Jason said he had the latest Generic Tunes from CAPA when he did mine, could be wrong though!

Yes I do Leigh, and have ordered the V3 Software as well.

Personally custom tuning would give the best results.

The 8psi is OK though, isn't it? that's what I usually run....

As suggested by Street Tuner it probably wouldn't hurt to take the flasher back to place of purchase and have the current CAPA tunes loaded.

You may also consider purchasing a custom tune which will give the best results.

Who knows whats in the box, but I can tell you its like nothing I have ever seen.....which is why you should get the CURRENT updates to make sure its actually a CAPA generic tune you have in the box.

Mark, you should take Martin up on his offer and get the latest CAPA generic tunes, I've heard they're pretty damn good considering they aren't 'custom'. If you're worried about the time it'll take to ship the box and have it returned, etc, and want that extra power in the meantime, all is not necessarily lost.

If you're comfortable running the 8psi map, I'm pretty sure you can leave that one in your car and still send the box back to CAPA. When you flash in their latest tunes, they'll just overwrite the older 8psi map you're currently running. Let us know how you go mate, I'm keen to hear the difference it makes! :spit:

Well I just went to see Daniel at Chipmaster who said that they are the latest CAPA tunes, but my wastegate actuator (huh?) is opening too early and hence not allowing boost to reach 8 or 10 psi.

So is a custom tune the only solution?

If so, I'll get a custom tune in early January.

Now back to my original question - is 226 rwkw a bit freakish on the factory tune?

Thanks for your comments

Mark

A bit freakish? I would say virtually unheard of mate! The dyno I had mine done on said that I was getting 215rwkw with a custom tune!! :spit:
