Ok, so let me understand this ...

Smaller is darker, e.g., 18 is darker than 20?

15 is about as dark as you would go because of night time visibility?

You can tint your windscreen, say at 35?

Just trying to get it straight. :spoton:

There isn't a noticable difference between 18 & 20. Infact I think it's the same specification just a different type of film.

20% is bad enough at night, if there are no street lights you will not be able to see out the sides and back.

You're not allowed to tint your front screen at all.

that's what I thought... why would you tint the windscreen?!?!

1. if you tint it with light grade tint does it make any difference?

2. I like to see out my front screen now and then...

18 is pretty damn dark, I wouldnt wanna go any darker than that. At night its almost like I have flicked the switch on my rear view mirror it is that dark.

Ken: imagine it as a percentage of light that it allowed through... 35% of light getting through compared with 18% of light getting through :spoton:

I've got 18% on mine and I probably wouldn't have it any darker, as people have already said at night it can quite difficult to see out of anything under 18. I wouldn't get my windsceen done mainly for the fact it's illegal to have any grade after market tint applied and it's really obvious when done.
