Sorry to hear that Lolly.

got my hyperflow one in the post today. They are Fcuken expensive but really are beautifully made. Bigger than I expected. Hope it works as good as it looks!

Wog will get a good look at it next week!

my xtc cooler (wog cooler) gave me 3 consistent back to back runs of the same rwkw figure :spoton:

not the prettiest under the sun but it works... and was fitted in under an hour

To those who have fitted the so called Wog cooler.

How about some pics of the installation and the cooler itself??

Good going guys. I'd love to install another intercooler just so I have another excuse to stay up all night drinkin god's drink with big Mick. The harder the better I reckon. Now, I'm definately going to buy that replacement lower I.c. hose today, it's only been 6 months. Anyone know of anywhere here in Sydney that sells that stuff?

Rob...kinked I.c. hose from hell.

The Hyperflow cooler is a nice unit - your right though - a touch on the pricey side Danno! But from my experience - well worth the $ investment. I didnt fit it myself, but I have had a good look and it appears to bolt up quite easily!

Has anyone got any dyno results to convince me to keep the ASE cooler before I fit it or should I return it and get another at that price range. Trough lolly I cant really see the PWR being any better as its about the same size and tube and fin.

No dyno results igsta, but seat of the pants there was a definate improvement down low, it seemed to build boost more quickly & also seemed to smooth out the boost fluctuations I was having under full throttle. I removed the cooler on the weekend becuase I'm trading my ute in & it seems doughy & less responsive down low now. Like I said not dyno results, but I'm more than happy with results on my ute.

Cheers,

Steve.

PS: it took me about four hours to fit the cooler with no instructions, while it wasn't as easy as I expected, it wasn't that bad. I'm sure if I did another one I could do it in 2 hours. :spoton:

I caught up with a bloke today that has a ASE cooler and asked him about his dyno results

supprise supprise he ran back 2 back runs on 2 occasions

results- 274rwkw-273rwkw and 276rwkw-274rwkw

mmm negligable loss from heatsoak.

maby there is no need to return your cooler and buy a different one?

I concur with everything Steve says, this is exactly the same result I have

I run AFR of 12.0 to be safe, and next week Simon is going to give it a fine tune on the dyno.

With no other change but this ASE intercooler, my AFR went from 12.0 to 13.2 - 13.4, and the tune had to be adjusted to accommodate the cooler charge air, so if you do this change yourself, be careful not to run you T too lean.

I fitted the Ase IC and had it on the dyno, though I also had an exhaust fitted

the thing went backwards big time.

Hi Everyone,

Well I fitted the ase ic the other week and the dump 3.5in waste gate 1.inch and 3.5 met cat as seen pictures below the dump pipe and cat made boost peak to 18psi not good, well it booked it in to nizpro for a retune not the best day to dyno car 32degrees very hot. Well peak power was 305rwkws with sligth pinping end result 295rwkws just to be safe boosted at 14psi. Maybe if it was cooler the results would have been interesting. Well Dave at nizpro said the ic dealt heat soak OK and better than standard ic, so if ase can build ic that can handle 32degree heat I'm pretty happy with that.

Mod's to car 2nd cai, edit, 968, valve springs,ic,dump pipe and cat.

The only weakness is the standard ic pumping. with shorting plumping results would be better more responsive. The standard clutch is fine at the moment.

sorry the photo quality was from my camera phone

cheers

George
