October 17, 200521 yr #32 Hi Trough Lolly,The brackets look like they're to space the power steering cooler forward, I didn't get those with mine, all I did was bend the originals up & back slightly. Then I loosened the clamps & slid the cooler towards the drivers headlight approx. 10mm.Cheers, Steve.PS. call me on 0439365839 if you want, I'm more than happy to help if I can.
October 17, 200521 yr #33 dunno if this will help....do you mean the bottom power steering cooler or the top one? when i did the pwr cooler on my ute i just removed the two standard brackets and clamps and turn them 180 degress so the cooler was behind the cross member..there should be enough length in the hoses. i then just bolted them back on and gave them a little tweak so the cooler didnt sit down to low.....make any sense?
October 17, 200521 yr #34 thanks for that.. still cant seem to work out what to do with the steering cooler though.. it needs to be moved up or back inwards towards the air con condenser to make room for the intercooler but I cant see how to use the brackets that's been supplied!!I got NFI and im ready to start throwin spanners...lolhers a pic of the brackets that come with the kit that I THINK are for the power steering cooler.. im "presuming" these are for the steering cooler..HELP!!!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Seems like this project a hard one!!Looks like you have more bolts with the IC than holding the bar on!!Good luck With It!!Let us know your view on itGC
October 17, 200521 yr #35 Author vibe thanks for the offer mate, seems im half back on track now. I done what u said, just bent the standard brackets backwards and up a bit and the lines are well clear of the cooler now.ive had to grind a fair bit of the support beam away to make room for the end tank cuz its either rubbing on the end tank of the air con condenser or the back of the support beam. got 2 brackets on the passenger side and the cooler is pretty much rock solid lol, about to drill the beam and mount the drivers top bracket and that should be all I reckon, its IMPOSSSIBLE to use the 4th bracket they supplied, it wont go anywhere. as vibe did, im just gunna use the 3 brackets instead of 4. its near solid with only 2 as it is.well back to it, ill report back later on how I went.also I have to shorten the top IC hose about 2' otherwise its kinked like hell when I put it on the new IC.wish me luck

October 17, 200521 yr #37 Perhaps ASE need to review there instructions and/or mounting kit, mine was also harder than I expected, but I didn't get ANY instructions or the brackets for the power steering cooler. I must have put the brackets in the wrong positions because I had to cut & reweld one of the brackets to make it fit & use all four brackets. I didn't have to cut my cooler hose though. When I rang ASE they said the two brackets that are the same go on the top & bottom of the drivers side, but that seemed more difficult than the way I did it. Cheers, Steve
October 17, 200521 yr #38 The instructions, or lack thereof, are the only thing wrong with the package. The only reason it drove me nuts was I didn't find all the instructions included, notably the pics. But once I had the pics, I knocked it over pretty quick.Nathan, not sure what the issue was with the power steering cooler?I removed the lower cooler when I started. Used the spacers provided when I remounted it which simply let it hang lower. It's sits level with the bottom of the IC, and behind it. Absolutley no issue with it getting in the way.igsta, I mounted it further to the right to avoid more grinding. If I mounted it in the original mount points, I would of had to grind alot deeper into the support bar for it to fit. (My grinder died during the job... shhhh)Moved it one inch (or theresabouts) to the right, made my own mount points, and voila. Nice shallow grind in the bar, and almost sits flush with the support bar at the other end. There's only 1mm in it, but that's all it needs. It's doesn't move on it's mounts at all, so no chance of it rubbing anywhere. And it sits notably more central... Which looks better I think? Bonus.
