My crystal ball broke, bugga. How can you say how many T's or GT-P's will be around in 30 years in good nick. And the phoon edition may well be the rare find. Then again when 4 out of 5 servo's recharge battery's not give fuel, then the dinasour's may be worth diddlie.

I'm not the least interested in what its worth in 10, 20, or 30 year. It will have been recycled into baked bean cans by then. I'm interested in the effect on reasle that the relase of the BF will have on BA MkII GT, GT-P and Typhoons that are all less than a year old. Anyone thinking the BA MKII will be a collectors item should submit themselves for drug testing - imo.

I dont think in 30 years time we will see these cars in unique cars too much. There is just too many of them. The GTHO was a very rare animal. You really had to know someone even to get one.(I tried at the time)

There is nothing Ford can do to build a classic like the GTHO . Its impossible. We have just seen Expensive Daewoo drop the Monaro. 

The closet thing they could build to a GTHO would be a Taxi pack BA on steel wheels with a 340KW Cleveland motor and that aint gunna happen. The market wont buy it.

They did in the 70's but they wont know.  We expet too much in our 80k cars.

Long live the GTHO - we will NEVER see it surface in a new car again.

okay to many T's? lets see how many VL Turbos were built XR,XT,XW,XY' were built (it takes a little work but you end up with what is called a GT replica which in themselfs are worth a nice $) monaros? toranas? mustangs? corvets? the performance cars of there day allways make it into unique cars... they may have been common but 30 years has a way of killing that commonality.

Ford could build a modern day HO they would not know they were doing it and neither would we, because like a good bottle of red it takes time to mature. If I told you in 1971 that the HO would be worth $250,000 in some 35 years you would have laughed at me and told me to see a shrink.. wouldnt you?

as for the market not buying it they didnt buy the HO a large proportion of them were bought by racing teams, I know of 1 person who bought one not even knowing what he got.. his son found out 2 years ago just before he pulled it apart to turn it into a drag car

I did flag a warning on this a month ago. I really think it isn't good sense to buy a Mk11 prior to th BF. It will be not a good buy IMO. The 6 speed will be a good car. the MK11 will be known as the car before the 6 speed...

Dont forget though, that the BF is essentially a BA MkIII. When I get my BF, I certainly wont be giving any BA owners any crap, as its the model that saved Ford, and put us back on the front page for the right reasons.

If you buy a MkII now (or even a second hand MkI), you're getting a great car. Plus, if you play your cards right, you wont be paying much for it.

Here's to the BA, and its soon-to-be younger brother, the BF!

By the way, the BF still retains the same 6-spd man, and not everyone will go for the 6-spd auto. 6 of one, half a dozen of another, horses for courses etc etc.

I wouldn't be suprised if the new F6 is called something else other than a Typhoon, therefore making the Typhoon groundbreaking engineering and possibly, HARD TO BUY!!!!!

I know they are proud of there foon... Time will tell

You guys do realise that the BA F6 has the same DIVCT engine and the BF don't you?

The differences are mostly cosmetic with a bit of a suspension upgrade.

BA, BF, there all same bar an auto and a few cosmetic changes. As far as the GTHO is concerned, we will NEVER EVER see another car using that acronym. The reason, because way back in 1971 someone not associated with FMC was clever enough to copyright the name, and would no doubt wan't crazy money to let ford use it.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of the GT40, as Ford wanted to use it for the current Ford GT, but a company that speciallises in original GT40 parts had the rights to the name and wanted Ford US to pay millions to use it, something Ford didn't want to do, hence being called the Ford GT.
