How Much For Second Hand T5?

Hello everyone this is my first post,

I have just purcased a ba 03 xr6t 5speed ute and broke down on my way home from sydney to north queensland. Nice way to start off in my first ford I have ever owned, I was impressed!

So it turns out that the weaping at the rear of the the gearbox was not fixed before I picked up the car. This so called weaping had left very little oil in the gearbox which soon left no oil in the gearbox and me out of luck in Armadale northern NSW. Lovely town nice friendly and helpful locals.

So now I need a new gearbox and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Just second hand will be fine as I will be fitting the box and selling the car. so much for my big plans.

Any help would be appreciated

why not keep the car.... fit a T-56 gearbox in it (6 speed), and turn it into a weapon??

Why is it not covered by a Ford warranty ?

This would be my first choice, did you buy it from a dealer ?

No it was a private sale.

Ford just said whoever did the repairs to the seal last is liable for the repair of it now. But the thing is the workshop is in sydney I am in north QLD and the car is in armadale.

Just worried about getting it home then will try my luck with ford here.

yeah but how much for a t56 secondhand, found one on ebay for $5000 don't have that kind of money to spend.

And, for that matter, I am not in the best frame of mind to spend more money on the car before I get to drive it for more than half a day.

if the car is still under its 3 year warranty ford should still fix or even replace it for you, weather its a private sale it doesnt matter.

Its not that its a private sale that they wont touch it. The car has been worked on by an other workshop not a ford dealer. And the ford dealer is not going to repair it because they didn't fix or not fix it in the first place they say that it is the workshop that did the repairs in the is liable.

That's a toughy... What kind of work was carried out on the box beforehand, and why was it done??

Ok if I wanted to drop a T56 in it would it bolt strait up? Whats esle is invovled in the conversion.

Don't know whats been done previous owner is playing dumb. I found out that he is just a lying the hard way.

Armidale is only a couple of hours from here. We can look at the box and quote to repair it if you can get it to us. Hope that helps. Ben.
