Would probably cost twice as much to get half as much performance gain.Never know, someone probably has done it, just cause they can. You can buy a new xr6turbo long motor cheaper than the kits I've seen. New Motor = $5200 + Edit with boost maps = $6500Or check the auto salvage joints. Plenty of T's being pranged so should'nt be to hard to find a low km second hand one.Last time I looked at the CAPA site S/C started around the $7000 then you would need the Edit to make it work properly. $8300. plus fitting and custom tuneYou can buy some pretty good mods for $2000 if you shop around. macka Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/19127-looking-for-sum1-with-a-blower-in-their-xt/#findComment-277744 Share on other sites

Posted 31/07/05 11:54 AM Share Posted 31/07/05 11:54 AM dont waste time with a blower man, unless u got a wheelbarrow full of cash and want to be different.. turbo would be cheaper and power gains are much easier.. It was the Capa powerdyne unit with 9psi and water injection, the car made 175rwkw which was good back in 2000 and made a huge difference to the cars driveability especially overtaking. I fitted the kit with 7000km on the clock and sold it with 55,000km on it and didn't miss a beat once. I only wished I had put a 2500rpm stall converter or had a manual as it is basically stock feeling until 2500rpm.I would choose Procharger also as the Vortech they sell do run hot and would benefit from a intercooler over 6psi.Either way you go you wont be disappointed and each to there own.Brett. I decided against it because it was a lot of money to pay for that S/C sound. If I had that wheel barrow of cash, I'd still do it though, just because I could. If that;s what you want, then go for it I say macka Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/19127-looking-for-sum1-with-a-blower-in-their-xt/#findComment-278108 Share on other sites
