I was thinking today, who is a good allround driver. An ambassador to motor sport.

1. Lowndes - Nice on and off the track great driver.

2. Skaife - Allright driver pr#$k of the track and on.

3. Ambrose - Brillant driver, has had his problems.

4. Dick Johnson - Understated carer. The true king of the mountain.

5. Dale Ernhart Junior - Nice on and off the track, great driver true sportsman.

I don't think we should limit it to Australian drivers.

My Picks.

Lowndes & Ernhart Jnr.

Any ideas, rank them.

P.s. Brock dosn't even rate a mention.

Hanna Mikkola (80's Rally)

James Hunt, Fangio, Brabham (Early F1, before computers)

And the 60's and 70's Aussie touring car drivers,

Bob Jane, Beechey and Geoghan, and Moffat.

I prefer drivers from the age when everything you did wasn't computer controlled, it took real skill to drive and win!

Cheers,

okay he may be a Expensive Daewoo driver but Greg Murphy is excelent, both off and on the track, he is probably one of the most honest racers in the top 10 is fantastic and not big headed like alot of others (nobody remebers lowndes when he was driving for holden, he had a huge ego problem?).

I have to agree with Familia with BJ, Beechey, Geoghan and Moffat. also being up there

Almost forgot Moffat. Remember sitting in the pits at Oran Park, and speaking with the man, very approachable, back when he was driving in the styvesent RX7 s No. 34 I think.
