Guys,

I got F6 insurance application knocked back by NRMA Insurance today. I have no claims for several years, full no-claim bonus & have all my licence points - but when I said I was planning an EMC edit - they said no thanks! I recall others on this forum with NRMA insurance - Can you confirm if you do - and tell me if you declared "modifications"?

Thanks

CountryPhoon

I recall a couple of people having their insurance cancelled due to modifications, one being as minor as aftermarket wheels(rim width I think) :tease:

I have my car through them, I asked my friend who is one of the phone chicks for NRMA about mods and so on, she told me off the record that you should insure your car as standard then once the policy has been approved add the mods then. I didnt have any problems with mine and I added a full after market body kit 19'' wheels BOV and so on and im under 25.

Best of Luck

Thanks for all the feedback guys. The other problem is that NRMA, RACV, Swann, CGU and others are now all part of the same Group - the IAG. So over time I guess their underwriting rules are being made uniform..

Anyone else out there use NRMA - with mods?

Yeah, been there, done that and 6 months after the policy was approved, modifications added, the renewal didn't appear.

Quick ring to NRMA, "Sorry Policy cancelled due to non-standard"

This is a V8 VP Ute.

Suncorp, GIO, AAMI wouldn't touch it either.....

Ended up with Vigil and Torque...

Actually , Torque were very good, underwritten by Lumley and were very good.

Vigil had the problem of being underwritten by QBE.

QBE take months and months and months to pay out a claim no matter who is at fault, no what their policies say

Took me over 5 months to get my ute back on the road after a claim with Vigil... 4.5 months of getting them to approve the claim, 2 weeks for repairs..

I'll agree with QBE being crap..took 8 months to get a cheque for all my bits and pieces that were lost in my accident. I claimed almost 9k worth of gear (purchase price), they gave me $4500.....

Im not a fan of NRMA, it could be a blessing in disguise CountryPhoon.

NRMA want me to pay a extra premium every year, so I can tell then where I want my car repaired if I ever bend it? :gooff: Don't even start me on their policy on using second hand parts....... :greyscare:

Its my friggin car, and I will say who friggin fixes it! And I'll send out new parts too! :kissmy:

My soapbox just broke.
