I wouldnt fret at all.  I have the 04 Motor Bang for Buck test and in that they get a quarter mile for the SS of 14.5 and SV8 got 14.0.  So they tested a mkII XR6T on a hot day and it wasnt as good as your average T, I dont think we have anything to worry about nor do I believe in conspiracy theories about Ford hobbling the T.

I totally agree, Turbo's on a hot day = SLOW. If you read some of the smaller mags you will find times with low 14's like the ute mags

I'm wondering what role the T56 may play in this. Is it the gearing, the increased friction and hence lower rwkw because of the bigger, stronger box, the increased weight of the T56, which is about 15kg I think, or is it a factor of all these things. Keeping boost lower at the top end maybe a possible cause to, to reduce the chances of overboost. All just theories.

You make a good point, the gear box may be the case. All test cars by mags have been manuals 6speeds so Ford can show it off. In one of my ute mags they test a Mk2 XR6t ute A4 and they say just as good as the first...The ratios and the extra gear may cause it to produce a slower time with shifting, I mean its only 1/2 - 3/4 of a second difference. It seems though its done the V8's very well.

With Ford very high...but it seems not only Fords are limping, I believe a WRX went into limp mode in another test.

Have anyone had any limp mode problems with the edit?

Sounds like they are having trouble containing the boost to the 6psi as I hav't heard of many or anyone have limp mode overboost problems with the higher boost levels associated with edit.

Maybe they should be upping the boost not pulling it back!

A 6.2 0-100 is a good time which leads me to believe Ford have done something with the gearing at the top end. Correct me if I'm wrong but in that motor mag test didn't the GT get like 240RWKW, that is much more than 290FWKW

The 2 recent tests of the MKII in velocity colour in May and June were the same car, same plates and the times were exactly identicle.

0-10,0-20,0-30 etc where exactly identicle. Gotta ask the question why didn't they retest it against the wrx, they simply just used the the old times which were crap.
