The boost varies because the system is trying to control the engines torque output throughout the rev range as per standard. From the factory its 4 - 6psi, with the top line CAPA kit its 10-12psi. You dont feel it as such

what's with the 10-12 psi, does it mean you can specify between 10 to 12 psi or is every car different and 12 psi may not be acheivable.

We had an issue with the max boost level, highest we could go was 11.5psi, constant. Part of the system we are using has an on board boost controller which isolates the factory boost controll system.

The factory Ford system with the 'Pierburg' solenoid does not lend it self very well to modifications.

Is there a NOS kit being developed for the XR6T.

It will be some time till a NOS system is required on a XR6T. Eaven on 9 second turbo cars, a NOS 50-70Hp kit would be used to assist the turbo spool up, or if the turbo runs out of puff and needs assisctance up in the top end.

It's just a matter of purchasing a standard kit and having it installed. But eaven with a NOS system you need fuel and ignition mods, more so then with just raising the boost level.

PS. With the TSI unit instaled it can be used to drive the NOS system and the required aditional fueling and ignition control.

I have some interesting observations of the boost control system. Removing the catalytic converter, which I did to measure power effect of removing each exhaust component, resulted in upwards of 14psi @ 6000rpm. Ie, even bypassing the factory control, the wastegate, which is fully open at 7psi, had massive cross sectional area issues.
