phase iii example. 18psi@2700rpm

lag? What's that

Lag for me is how boost comes on to reach max boost, from 1500 to 3500 in 1 gear, the main area being 2000-2500 revs.

This graph does not show that.

By the look of the graph the car would be making more power at 2000rpm than the stock T does at max RPM.

Max boost is also at 3400rpm. Owning a phase III I can say that the needle moves through the rpm very quickly, as you'd expect with that much boost so early

So you reckon this car makes over 180rwkw at 2000 rpm.

If you check out the APS web site you see that the APS Phase 3 car makes 60rwkw at 2000rpm.

Personally I dont trust any published dyno graphs don't start from say 1500 revs.

You should note that there are tricks by dyno operators to make mid range torque better than it really is.... especially if the run starts from around 3000 rpm. You won't find APS or Nizpro doing such.

XRT UTE,

I think you have a chip on ya shoulder...your comparo is odd.

XR Downsides-

Big car (huh? the Falcon is meant to be big so it seats 5 easily!)

big lag (garbage! XR6T has the least lag of any turbo car Ive driven)

no down low thump (XR6T's smooth power delivery is a negative?!)

no 6k launch (so?! If my car can = a WRX 0-100kmh who cares how its done)

no handling (well, less compared to a WRX)

taxi look (vaguely)

runs out of puff (meaning?!)

AWD Downsides

Small car (I dont think this is a downside if its what you seek)

some lag (I agree, small engines+turbo = lag)

no torque (well, less compared to the XR6T anyway)

crap clutch (after several 6k launches Id expect something to give)

'racer boy' image (depends how the car is done up)

long drives are painfull (well, not as comfy as an XR6T, agreed)

XR upsides

roomy

comfortable

torque

potential

manual is a good box, smooth and strong (the auto works even better imho)

AWD upsides

6k launches (this isnt necessarily a good thing)

7.5k launches ( put your eyeballs back in...)

Handling

braking

did I mention something about an awd launch?????

Rebuttal..

Mate, if I had a chip on my shoulder, would I have put most of my downsides to a car as an upside, and vice versa?? why not read the whole post, then get where I'm coming from. Driving both, they are good for what they are, although they cannot directly compete with each other..

And when I say these's no low down thump, I just found the Xr's to be slow out of corners, if you find yourself in second gear at low revs, it takes forever to build revs and boost to get out of the corner.

And yes, the auto works better, in a straight line, if you don't do much hard braking around a track

I can appreciate every car for it's good and bad points, just seems too many ppl are wrapped in their own beliefs they can't accept good things come out of different factories. And the fact we are even comparing a Falcon to a rex, they both have a turbo, similarities end there imo..

Like I said in my original post, what's he gonna use it for??

I am not a hypocrite, I've got a Tornado on order, I can appreciate a good car, and the F6 will be one..
