YOOT Member 1,201 Member For: 21y 10m 19d Location: Birkdale Posted 15/02/05 07:36 AM Share Posted 15/02/05 07:36 AM I too ran neck and neck with a VYII SS, it was black. He beat me off the line but I was in fron in third and pulling away. He wouldn't pass me either after that.I find it absolutely priceless when people spot the BA headlights in their mirrors, most teenagers in their imports or bogans in their HSV/SS spot you they ALWAYS drift behind you and check out the badge on the back and nearly all of them don't even try it once they see it!The most satisfying result was one sunday afternoon about 5pm, I was cruising down a long dual lane 80 zone and up at a set of lights that was red was a red VY V6 ute, very low, big tacho on the A pillar with shift light, stupi dloud exhaust and this blond fella who looked like a girl behind the wheel. As I appraoched the lights they went green so I sped up to 80 and flew bas the ute, anyway he didn't like this so he was raping his ecotec and finally drew beside me and sat ther in second gear, trying not to look at me, but you could tell he wanted to race.Anyway, my girlfried can't help but laughing at him, he sees her doing that and starts to back off. I then decide to queeze the throttle in 4th and pop the BOV a bit. This nut heres the valve go and he shoots off and gets about 100m in front of me before he realises I dodn't bother! Funniest thing ever, and whats funnier, like the old 3.8 stood a chance LOL   Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/15664-first-real-kill/page/6/#findComment-219599 Share on other sites

It's the thing that stops me from having a go, AAMI say no insurance whatsoever on any damage received or done when on a race / drag track of any kind. It would be hard to explain to if something did ever get damaged huh? Does anyone have thoughts/other advice on this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>The best advice is don't hit stuff when you're on the track. I've been to the track many times (sihtloads, over 100 runs) and have never had an incident. There was one run with Dean where we thought we nearly had an incident, Dean needed new undies but insurance wont cover them. If you drive sensibly and get off the pedal when you loose traction you will have no problems.Geea. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>lol yeh I remember that u posted a vid on here it looked quite scary. Eugene Member 670 Member For: 20y 7m 22d Gender: Male Location: Newcastle NSW Posted 16/02/05 05:43 AM Share Posted 16/02/05 05:43 AM My Most Recent “Kill”Heading back down the coast from Forster, I decided to go “The Lakes Way” as I was on that side of town and it would save me a few minutes.Half way along there is about 5 k of winding road, rice smooth on camber corners, up steep hills and down the same, corners from 35 km up to 55km, joined by nice little 80-100meter long straights.Just before the corners started I was overtaken By a WRX, bug eyed thing, don’t know the year but ugly. When we got into the bendy bits he upped the pace, so did I, I had only washed and cleaned it out the day before so there was no crap in the back to go rolling around, and just me up front.I didn’t harass him to hard, just enough to let him know I was there, I sat about 8 meters off him through the bends and closed it up on the straights, then push him a bit, then back off, we did this for a while and his constant checking of his mirrors made it clear he wasn’t having as much fun as I was. When we got almost to the top there is a little place on the side of the road to pull over, he did and let me past, when pulled out and sat up my backside, the rest of the way is almost all down hill and the brakes were suffering, tryes howling in protest, but it was too much fun to stop.Pushing as hard as I could through the bends he was sitting about 5-8 meters back and on the edge as was I, he was really trying, so was I. On the bit in between I just left him for dead, pull out about 30-40 yards each time. When we got to the next open bit of road, he didn’t overtake again, he sat a respectable distance back.Good fun. And not only a straight line victory. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/15664-first-real-kill/page/6/#findComment-219976 Share on other sites
