I might be in a position to renew my current ride at about July 2005.

Right about the time the new auto should surface.................

Then....if 400m times are important (They're not to me), we shall see what that big load of twist can do..........

Those figures appear to be quoted by Ford as Motor have yet to run their own performance tests.

I thought Ford issued a press release saying that they were NOT publishing any performance figures for the Typhoon. I beleive it was because they didn't want to add any fuel to the supercar fire ...

Its the same thing as our XR6's, if they motor could actualy build torque from 2000rpm than we'd all be making 300kws with less than 10psi, instead of heading that way at 2000rpm and being pulled back halfway through till its running nearly N/A at 5500rpm.

I have driven the Phoon and the GT and the times they are publishing for the Phoon are sadly correct. The car is definitely not a 13 second car and not that much quicker than the XR6T. The car is difficult too launch and too much lag.

How can an engine with max torque at 2000 revs have lag? Do you mean off-throttle response?

I thought it might go better than reported. At least Wheels teast was readable. It doesnt go any better really thna the Charger. Havent we come a long way.....

I am surprised as well with a car claimed to have 500Nm at 2000rpm. I suppose the 500Nm is at full throttle and full boost.

Off throttle response to me anyway was pretty poor until about 4000rpm. Look once the car started moving it is a fast car but once again nothing special. To me it seemed if you wanted to extract the best out of this car you really had to fang it.

Other guys on this forum have driven the car and loved it. In terms of performance all I can say is the times they are posting for the car are correct. Either the car I was driving was faulty in some ways or the power claims are not correct. The GT is definitely a better drive.
