October 17, 200422 yr #1 I am wondering when we will see the increase in power battle end and some good quality gear put inside the cars. Up untill the mark 2 the XT Falcon didnt even have power windows in the back!!With the cars now having good power outputs isnt it time we started seeing sat nav, keyless entry, revers sensors, premium sound, six speed gear box etc on all of the so called performance cars as standard?Power is great but having different gadgets to play with is always fun.I love my Falcon but just because the new S Expensive Daewoo has 8k kw more than the standard XR 6 I would have thought putting extra gear in the car to would be better than producing a car that will match the same kw in a year or so?I couldnt justify spending $90,000 on a 290 kw car but if it had some extras in it like what the europeans have I could be interested.I also understand it is a cost thing but if the japs can produce good quality low cost gear for there cars why cant Expensive Daewoo and FordI jus dont know?
October 17, 200422 yr #2 hate to say it but power get your adrenilin rushing and the only thing power window in the rear doe's is give the kids somthing to do!!!hopfully ive made it as a first reply!ohh and as aussies we all get piad to good to be competitve??
October 17, 200422 yr #3 I was rather still leave them optional so you can choose what you want. They should make more options available thou I feel. Some things should be standard like Illuminated window switches. Hard to think that hyundais come with them be BA XRs dontScruffy

If some other makes can do extras cheaply surely the super powers could?

October 18, 200422 yr #7 Gadget, smadget , yeah they are nice to have but how do play with em when your driving . I prefer to drive my T rather than bugger around with switches buttons and dials. As long as the sound is ok I'm happy

October 18, 200422 yr #9 Gadget, smadget , yeah they are nice to have but how do play with em when your driving . I prefer to drive my T rather than bugger around with switches buttons and dials. As long as the sound is ok I'm happy When I'm driving I rarely get a chance to look at the gauges I have let alone any new ones. I think the more toys a car has in it the more chance the driver will be distracted. When I'm into it I don't often look at anything besides the tacho and the road. I have put blue lights in the window switches but that's more so I can play with the car than anything. I know where the switches are and can find them in the dark. I'm happy with the features the car has. No doubt some would like more that's their right. They have 2 choices after market or a different make/model. There are enough different cars out there to keep everyone happy, if you don't like the current Falcon range don't complain about it, have a look around and buy another sort of car that meets your criterior.Geea.
October 18, 200422 yr #10 Gavin, the answer to your question lies in marketing and economics. There is a concept in economics known as 'price discrimination'. Manufacturers or service providers often provide goods or services at several prices in order to extract as much out of each customer. Some people are prepared to pay $30,000 for a car, some are prepared to pay $45,000 and some will even pay $60,000! In order to sell a car for the latter feature you must add features to justify the purchase - its that simple. Its all about making a buck and the big car makers know how to play the game.
