A mate of mine had his 30K service done last week..........he supplied his own Oil and the local Ford Dealer charged him $90.00 for the service plus $28.00 for a new Air Filter.

Next time before you book your car for service ask for a price first

I think they saw you coming, still if you look at some of the prices for their aftermarket FPV and BA accessories its obvious that profit comes before pride if the dealer is who I think it is.

Mark, very sadly you were ripped big time. The dealer is charging $80.90 per hour for labour from what I can see. I don't know of anywhere in Australia being over $70 an hour. The handbrake is definitely a warranty item. Request a refund - while suggesting you feel inclined to ring Ford Customer Service with a formal complaint of the dealer overcharging.

Also, they are obliged to explain to you EXACTLY what two units of oil is - it is normally measured in litres so if they are only charging you for two litres you thank them very much for their generosity and ask for a refund - the diff between what you were charged less 2x the per litre cost of Magnatec or whatever oil it was.

Normally, anywhere on the east coast, that service would cost half what you've been charged. I don't think the penalty for living in the west should be that high ...

PS Last week I had a 100,000km service done on my T3 - PLUS new rotors, pads and calipers all round, AND new shocks all round, all these parts I supplied. Now, just the air filter for my car is about $70, then there's the oil at $80 (Castrol Formula R) and the oil filter, being all the parts they supplied. All up cost including labour was a little less than what you have been charged. I think this gives you a fair idea of the rip-off mate. I hope you get some satisfaction from the b@st@rds.

They fixed the handbrake in that price as well
