I am a very firm believer in the ethos of Christianity and believe that "do unto others" etc has a lot of merit as a life philosophy. As some one has already posted the key word = respect.Doesn't matter your creed, colour, inclination or tolerance.Mutual respect and acceptance will no doubt serve to provide a better place for our children to live. Guest XR8GN3 Guests Posted 28/09/04 01:19 PM Share Posted 28/09/04 01:19 PM I believe in an ideal that makes us aspire to be better than we are....I don't believe in man made doctrines that are just as cruel as thos ethat we despise.I despise Communism and Socialism but I also mistrust Catholicism, Islam, Judaism, Shintoism, Buddhism, Maoism, Moonism etc etcBasically anything which relies upon the financial donations from supplicants for the doctrine to survive.Like how stupid are the Irish....they're happy to kill each other because one believes in a different form of Christianity to the other - Catholics v Protestants.. That is just downright stupidity....and on that basis man made religion can stick it right up where the Holdens don't shineYou said it donations....you are not required to give any money if you dont wont to but it depends what religion your talking about. To me there is only one true faith..There can be no other as all other religions are based on man made choices and decisions and are not the word of God. bara Member 183 Member For: 21y 10m 11d Location: Gold Coast Posted 28/09/04 08:27 PM Share Posted 28/09/04 08:27 PM ........To me religion is just something that people invented to explain things that our minds cannot grasp. Like where all this came from, how can space not have boundaries, UFOs and how Ford can't snag a win at Bathurst lately. ...... Which is pretty much what I state at the first page of this thread. Not to denegrate what people have said or believed here, but to say that the stars or mountains or lakes or fluffy bunnies must be the creation of a 'God" simply because they are nice, and that children with cancer, and people dying in wars they didn't start is due to Man, I feel is a cop out.Yes it's easier NOT to believe in "God", only because the evidence is there as to why things are the way they are. Not because some "being" made it, but because of nature and of chemical forces.I would like to say that I think it's great that this thread hasn't been deleted, and that in this country we can express our beliefs without getting shat on by one side or the other. And in the end, as long as you don't hurt someone, isn't tolerance of what others do or believe what it should be all about. sbr79 Member 280 Member For: 20y 10m 22d Posted 29/09/04 01:17 AM Share Posted 29/09/04 01:17 AM BARA, you bring a smile to my face with that comment, I can't help but agree fully that this thread has been on eof the best ones we have all been involved in. Not only does it shopw we are all Normal people , but we can all think out side the box we live in. If by any chance it keeps going I hope it stays away from personal attacks, so far it has and its been a really good read.I still don't think though that a book of Opinions written many years before we could have been stains on the mattress, can justify why CHILDREN have to pay for the sins of MEn such as GEORGE BUSH, SADDAM HUSSIEN, HITLER etc. They are they innocent ones. If an Evil person dropped the bomb on Australia, the children come to us for a hug and a feeling of security, not the other way around we don't go to them, we as adults start looking for answers, as to why us, why now, and I must protect my child or loved ones.If I were ever needed back in the ARMY I would go without question, but only to protect my fellow countrymen, in the NAME of my Loved ones and Family, not in the name of a guy who is yet to be proven to have lived and a the father which created the world in which we feud, war, kill, demoralise, and segregate, all for what to pay back for sins made by people long ago, I say that only because every bad is called a sin and will be forgiven, but the apparent sins in modern times would have been for a more appropriate time to die on the cross, rather than back when the ancient world was become more modern, and the world population was equal to less than a quater of the population today. Not because some "being" made it, but because of nature and of chemical forces. Like the belief in god, there is no real proof for the creation of the universe other than a big bang theory, or at least as I know it.There were actuall people who spoke with an wrote down the teachings of the christian god when he was on earth. Big bang is still just a theory. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/13064-how-religious-are-you/page/6/#findComment-170269 Share on other sites
sbr79 Member 280 Member For: 20y 10m 22d Posted 29/09/04 03:33 AM Share Posted 29/09/04 03:33 AM Both theories are hand writtings of Humans. So both are just theories written in books. Although through the telescopes of late they can now see back in to the history of our solar system. Not sure how to explain it, but , they don't seem to see GOD creatinf the universe when they do it. I think Humans have and always will be very SIMPLE in our ways of thinking. Maybe there is no answer at all. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/13064-how-religious-are-you/page/6/#findComment-170322 Share on other sites
