20/09/04 04:20 AM20/09/04 04:20 AM #4 Hi All,I work at Haltech, and I am sure Chiptorque would be as keen as Haltech to say that these units are not the same unit. If you look hard enough, you will realise that the Powerchip unit also looks very similar. The truth of the matter is that the boxes and connectors used for all these units are made by the same supplier of very high quality automotive connectors. The electronics companys individually make what is inside the box, but they all used the same off the shelf componentry for the box and connectors, so they look the same. Unfortunately the box that is being used is quite simply the best solution for this type of product by a fair margin, so I expect that there would be more products that will also look the same in future. This box is rated to much higher than typical under bonnet temperatures, and is fully waterproof, so it can be fitted to cars with underbonnet ECUs that may be likely to have water under the bonnet (think 4WD diesel turbos) without effecting the reliability of the vehicle. This is much better than the systems used by some. Of course in the case of the XR6T, it is quite simple to install the unit in the cabin, but the option is there.Haltech would not rebadge a competitors product, and I am sure Chiptorque would not also.-- Adrian

20/09/04 07:03 AM20/09/04 07:03 AM #6 come on Adrian give us some answers, I can see you are online right now !I really want to know as I am in the market for a chip of some sort
20/09/04 07:04 AM20/09/04 07:04 AM #7 I would be happy to, but am I allowed to... will I get thrown off the forum? If the moderators are happy I will, but I doubt they would be.The Haltech product is similar in its features to the XEDE and Unichip, but there are some key differences which we hope will be attractive to the general market. At the end of he day, the Haltech product is similar to the other options with a few key differences, but we hope to offer another option for XR6T owners, and we hope that our price and features will prove popular.-- Adrian
20/09/04 08:47 AM20/09/04 08:47 AM #8 Adrian,I think you'll find the moderators are happy for your to present the wares of the Haltech ECU... just don't spend a great deal of time discounting and pissing on the other products, that's what will get peoples noses out of joint.Alternatively set some resources up online that we can go visit and have a good read up.It's my opinion, but your behaviour on here has been second to none thus far so with out further notice... tell us the goods! :DMaybe put it together in an email and send it to the mods (via PM) prior to posting it on here... that way you can be confident they won't just pull it off... you'll be suprised at how open and lenient they are...
20/09/04 09:32 AM20/09/04 09:32 AM #10 The mods are all gays, don't worry about them. How do you know, big boy? I'll find out exactly what the go is Adrian. About relaying information that is!
