I thought my new one was better. Very interesting, thanks for a great post Grant!

I wonder how much the gearbox and all the rest will cost from Ford....How much would a used T5 go for? It may work out better in the long term to upgrade straight to Mk2 or a typhoon...

No change to the auto, no chages in power and only minor spec upgrades considering the BA has been 2 years on the market by the time BA2 is released. l hope the T56 doesnt have a redundant 6th gear like the Expensive Daewoo box No Getrag, well there is a suprise. Ford would have commited to the T56 a long time ago l reckon to have completed engineering, durability testing etc. Probably a year ago at least. A Getrag was always too many $$ for an Aussie made family car.No mention of the diff, wonder if anythings changed there. If the XR8 gains a power upgrade (it appears the rest wont from the text) then it will be a real option to the T, not just for those V8 diehards.

'Cause it wasn't engineered for the car then.2. I would not have been able to marketed as a major upgrade. It's all about planned upgrades to keep market interest high as is evidenced by the fast introduction of new colours.
