August 2, 200422 yr #31 So is there going to be a buy-back scheme on my T5?I wonder how much to drive into the dealership with the (T5) in the car and drive out with a "MkII" driveline?I currently am far from in love with my car due to the disgusting clutch and gearbox. I thought my new one was better. Very interesting, thanks for a great post Grant!
August 2, 200422 yr #32 This certainly is good news. I wonder how much the gearbox and all the rest will cost from Ford....How much would a used T5 go for? It may work out better in the long term to upgrade straight to Mk2 or a typhoon...
August 2, 200422 yr #33 Good news for existing owners l reckon as far as not undermining resale too much goes. No change to the auto, no chages in power and only minor spec upgrades considering the BA has been 2 years on the market by the time BA2 is released. l hope the T56 doesnt have a redundant 6th gear like the Expensive Daewoo box No Getrag, well there is a suprise. Ford would have commited to the T56 a long time ago l reckon to have completed engineering, durability testing etc. Probably a year ago at least. A Getrag was always too many $$ for an Aussie made family car.No mention of the diff, wonder if anythings changed there. If the XR8 gains a power upgrade (it appears the rest wont from the text) then it will be a real option to the T, not just for those V8 diehards.
August 2, 200422 yr #34 I'm waiting for that shirty bugger from Canberra that wrote of his Blueprint to read this news. I can hear the Croatian swearwords starting already! 6speed
August 2, 200422 yr #35 why didnt they just fit the 6 speed originally! there wouldn't have been so many ed of owners
August 3, 200422 yr #36 It's tough having people attack at every turn....GeorgeI still ain't saying sh*t. Geea. Me either
August 3, 200422 yr #38 why didnt they just fit the 6 speed originally! there wouldn't have been so many ed of owners 1. 'Cause it wasn't engineered for the car then.2. I would not have been able to marketed as a major upgrade. It's all about planned upgrades to keep market interest high as is evidenced by the fast introduction of new colours.
