August 1, 200422 yr #11 I'm planning on getting the demo - should be available by next weekend (maybe)I was a fan of iD, I have Quake I & II, but then got into Half-Life and Unreal Tournament.Halo was fun, but Half-Life 2 is what I'm really looking forward to !
August 1, 200422 yr #12 Author never played half life. I did play counter strike though, I am not a fan of multiplayer gaming. I would prefer to play with myself
August 2, 200422 yr #13 Farcry I have heard is good, I don't like games where you kill aliens and demonds, I like killing people in games, the more realistic the better, I like good deaths, that's why my favourite is still soldier of fortune II. Doom 3, pfft killing demons is for kids.
August 3, 200422 yr #16 Yep, I'm looking forward to it alright... Anyone heard any information on the ideal machine specs to run it?I think my geforce 4 ti4200 might struggle a bit.....Maybe time for an upgrade.
August 3, 200422 yr #17 I want it... I think it will only run at a flat 2fps, or there abouts on my AMD 1300+, GeForce 2 MX400 :| I'm thinking about getting a new video card. But HL2 does look good indeed. I've got video's of it from E3... There is a can that can levitate objects and then move them above baddies and let it drop on them But I really want WoW. That is going to be awsome!
August 3, 200422 yr #19 I bought Doom 3 earlier today and I must say that it is a landmark game. I played it for about an hour and I need a bloody break. certainly the most atmospheric game I've played. I was practically shaking while playing it. I know it's only a game, but geeez, the atmosphere and the scariness is unbelievable. In terms of graphics I am seriously impressed. My athlon XP 3000+ and GeForce FX 5950 Ultra (overclocked) seems to be coping quite well. I have played Far Cry (actually bought it a few weeks ago) which is a damn good game in it's own right (Especially in multiplayer), but to get real scared doom 3 does the job quite well. My recomendation would be that people with pace makers (*looks at Ken and waits for the back hand* ) should stay away from Doom 3, but if you have the ticker I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is just so unbelievable.
