HSV LOSSES

A mate has a black series I VY and although I think they look not too bad I certainly would never entertain the idea of buying one nor a HSV for that matter. I guess my blood is a pure blue (it goes back to dad owning xt/xw/xy sedans and all the other countless FORDS he had owned in the late sixties/seventies and beyond) and you can call me ignorant...but in my eyes FORDS rule!!!!!!!

Has anyone at all thought of the possibility this wasnt a GTS coupe but a GTO coupe????

no where had I seen the witness of this little street race mention what type of HSV it was all I saw was its a HSV coupe. and that could mean it was a earlier model also, maybe a 255kw jobbie.....

please confirm wether this was a GTS or not???

I wouldn't have the faintest idea what it was myself. I don't know enough about HSV's. I actually took more notice of shiftyxr's car than the Holden.

On the back of the coupe my mrs said it had HSV and thinks GTO.

Who cares what was in it,at the end of the day its only fun and shows that the T is a good value for money car.

I would like to see what could beat it in the 40k price range from holden.

shiftyxr, I think that the xr6 turbo and the vy ss are very similar in terms of 0 - 100km/h time and also the quarter based on the magazines times.

they are fairly evenly priced also so yes there is a Expensive Daewoo at around that price with a similar performance results.

I am not sure of actual street or drag comparisons but having been on the ls1 forums and also these forums they seem to be fairly even.

unless you are packing some serious grunt DO NOT understimate the LS1 powered cars. For a measly outlay these guys are getting very very quick street cars. I ran a guy in a VY SS ute at WSID and he was pulling 13.4 with some basic mods (edit & mafless tune).

The other issue I have with red-light battles is how do you know if the person your running is "fair dinkum" ? Get out to the strip and you get a REAL result.

Don't sweat it ... it's normal. Everyone sees their own warning level and nobody elses. Yours say 0% like most others.
