APS Phase Mods and Ford Warranty

I don't have T yet, but for $5650 fitted and tuned I can't see why I wouldn't get the APS Phase 2 mod done when I do get one.....

I'd even be happy to drive over from here in Perth to over east to get it done (happier driving back I'm sure )

BUT

Might sound like a dumb question - What effect will an APS Phase 2 conversion have on the Ford Warranty? I'm thinking it would totally void it?

Hearing about so many niggly probs all covered by warranty though makes me think twice - at least until it's out of warranty I guess

it voids the whole drive line warranty, but still covers the rest of the car.....unless you know the boys in service real well they wont tell on you..... they have to report any mods they see on your car and then it blacklists your car on computer system. if something major goes wrong and you try to claim it on warranty ford will send thier chief engineer out to inspect the vehicle to see if any spanner has been put on the engine etc. and makes sure ecu hasnt been tapped into.eg.unichip,exede..

Thinking about it, after coming out of my current ride....EF 4 litre I6...I'd be more than happy to ride the stock T for the duration of the warranty - then it would be time for the steriods... just to spice up the relationship later on

There are a lot of Performance Mods out there - designed and fitted by reputable companies & their authorised dealers.

Although the Warranty standing would be the same - would people PREFER to have their mods done at a FORD DEALER ??

At the end of the day - should something go wrong with a Modified vehicle - the Ford Dealer should investigate the fault & see where the fault really lies.

We all know if "You Play you Pay" - but Customer Service is all about investigating all avenues with the customers best interest in mind.

That was the main reason why I went Phase 1 arranged through my dealer, he is looking after the warranty issues. Of course Upgrading to Phase 2 will take some convincing, never the less I am working on it. I think the service guys there are just happy to see one of their Turbo's going so well.

Rik: When looking at the cost to go Phase 2 also factor in getting the valve springs done $800 or so and depending on the Box getting the box strengthened, I know the Auto can cost as much as $1100 to get done. Still for the money a 12 sec street car is pretty amazing.

Try closer to $2500 to do the job properly...
