My hand brake works fine... The only downside to it is that it feels like I have to pull it up to the bloody roof line... none the less, it works :locked:

mine hasn't worked since about 5000klms. The car now has 41,000 on it,a dn everytime it goes back in I get them to re-adjust it, but it seriously only last about 1 week, before it back at full mast.

Mine also only grabs on one side. like you sit on a hill, pull the handbrake and as the car rolls back that little bit, one side goes down the other up as though it's only working on one side.

I with you Goose.

30,000 k servgice is due soon. Hope they fix it this time

Mine gets re-adjusted every time I go into the dealer. Every time I have to pay for this adjustment.

It works for a couple of days, then looses all it's grip and I have to get it adjusted again.

When it does work it makes that scraping noise whilst driving, when it doesn't work it still makes that noise....

I forgot to mention my car's in once every two weeks on average, I've had it for 10 months and have over 36,000kms.

[B]HI EVERYONE I WORK FOR THE COMPANY THAT SUPPLIES FORD WITH THERE HANDBRAKES(PBR AUTOMOTIVE) THE WOOSHING SOUND IS A DESIGNE FLOOR THAT WILL BE FIXED AT A LATER DATE, THE PROBLEM IS WHEN THE HAND BRAKE IS APPLIED IT EXPANDS, BUT WHEN YOU RELEASE IT IT DOESNT RETURN TO ITS NORMAL POSITION CAUSING IT TO RUB AGAINST THE INSIDE OF THE ROTOR HUB/HAT .

THIS PROBLEM IS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED AT A LATER DATE WHEN A SPRING IS ADDED TO HELP PULL THE PARKBRAKE SHOE BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL POSITION.OR AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD ON THE GRAPE VINE AT WORK :banghead:

NO DATE HAS BEEN SET THOUGH SO I CANT TELL YOU WHEN

BUT IT WILL PROBABLY REQUIRE A CHANGE OVER OF THE PARKBRAKE ASSEMBLY.

YOU CAN HAVE IT ADJUSTED AT YOUR DEALERSHIP BUT THE PROBLEM WILL KEEP COMING BACK,AND YES THIS DOES WEAR THE PARK BRAKE OUT FASTER(THE WOOSHING SOUND THAT IS)RUBBING ON THE INSIDE OF THE HUB.

THE PROBLEM IS NOT ON EVERY PARKBRAKE AND IS FAIRLY QUIET FOR MOST PEOPLE SO YOU WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PEOPLE HEARING IT AS YOU DRIVE PAST. IF THEY LOOK AT YOU ITS PROBABLY ENVY THAT YOU WILL SEE IN THERE EYES.........GO T ;)

TURBO74,

Just a HINT, please do not use CaPs as it is considered SHOUTING.

Also, Thanks for the info on the handbrake issue.

Except for that bloody shoosh-shoosh-shoosh-shoosh noise at speeds up to about 40km from the rear brakes dragging. :spoton:

Yep. Same here. VERY annoying, had this in my AU too.

Thanks for the interesting info turbo74. It's great to know that PBR are taking the problem seriously, after all, it's only been around since 1998 (or before?).

Not a personal dig mate but I took my AU1 back to Ford nine times and to Midas four times to get that bloody noise fixed and everytime I got the typical response, "Yep, it's all fixed...".

It's not as loud on my BA but definately noticable in underground carparks etc....
