I've helped install a plazzy, mackielec, and antz battery relo & intake kits. They are all basically the same. Quality wise the plazzy one was mint but is on the pricey side. I'd recommend the mackielec or antz systems for awesome bang for buck products. Additionally, installing these is a f%#k tonne simpler if you install them along with an I/C piping kit. The stock I/C piping, on the hot side specifically, can get in the way. Not impossible to install without I/C piping though, just real tight!

For what its worth, getting a mid muffler delete from the stock exhaust makes a huge difference to the sound and tone of the car. One of my favourite cheap mods I've done to my car. Cost me $100! If you're not chasing big power gains, I reckon you'd be better off looking for a 2nd hand stock exhaust to fix your leaky one, and get the middle muffler removed at an exhaust shop. Yes the x-force systems sound good - but they're expensive. Got a photo from the guys at the powder coating place when the sun hit the cover 😁 They said they were initially a little underwhelmed as it wasn't changing colour as much as the previous rocker I had them do, but then the light hit it and it went purple!

Picked up the CORRECT rocker cover for my car today from the powder coaters! Light blue base with chameleon teal top coat. Won't look anything special until its hit by sunlight - kinda like pearl!

EDIT: I meant turbine, not housing lol Actually, it was pulled apart and full of oil. There was some seal behind the exhaust turbine that was all floppy. I'm a noob when it comes to turbo design, but it didn't seem to have been an oil starvation issue. I wish I could share the video here! 😋 Definitely going to keep an eye out on the FB groups to see if any posts about this comes up! Been deeply considering getting of these cheap turbos, they ain't a garrett but they a third of the price. Its hard not to want to get one 😂

Saw something odd on Instagram today. Follow a bloke with the handle @_w8andc_, his plates on his rig being "w8andc. He's from QLD. Posted up two stories about a blown pulsar turbo that had less than 3k km on it apparently. Bagged the turbos for being sh*t with little info on what happened. They stories have been deleted now too... 🤔🤔 First time I've heard of the pulsar turbo crapping out. Was keen to get other info on the setup. Either way, not a good sign for the pulsar train. But still, for under $1000 you can replace that bad boy nearly 3 times before it's the same price as a Garrett 🤣

I also logged my drive to work this morning. Got the car nice and warm, and IATs were hovering in the 20-25C area so I figured it'd be a great opportunity to give it the beans and log the boost. So I logged a bunch of stuff on my way to and from getting my rocker cover from a bloke an hour way (got some -10an fittings welded onto it!). Was from about 6 to 8.30. split into two drives. It was a relatively hot day yesterday. I graphed the two trips RPM, IAT and Boost to see if there is any correlation. At colder IATs there is definitely less boost at less IATs than at higher IATs, its a difference of about 2psi though. Yea, but this is Rob we're talking about. Its not like its just "one of them" shops. Monsta Torque has an extremely high reputation in Perth and is regarded as "the best of the best" when it comes to barra's in WA. He had a lot of cars to tune in that week mine got done. He was stuck in 2 week iso after seeing his family over east and came back to find out the floors in his new shop weren't done / not done properly. So his plan to move shops has been severely pushed back, he is a very busy man and I feel bad if I go bug him about this tune 😕 Might get the forscan running on my crappy laptop again and log some data, get some basic data and see whats going on.

Well I contacted rob and he said its normal. I'm not 100% sold on it. The difference in a pull at 16psi compared to 10-12 is really noticeable. Did one on the way home from uni yesterday arvo with IATs around 38C, 16psi and pulled like a dream. Did one this morning on the way to work with IATs around 28C, hit 12psi. Still pulled pretty good but judging by the butt dyno it didn't feel no where near as hard. Car was tuned when the ambient temps were 27C so IATs would have been around the 28-30c area. It seems that anything below that the boost just dies off. Kinda sucks cause when its peaking at 8psi it feels like it did when it was stock 🤷‍♂️

So does that mean that is it normal behaviour then? I have no idea what strategy Rob uses in his tunes, all I know is he uses PCMTEC and that the dyno sheet says its tuned to 16psi, so seeing it run at 8psi had me quite confused. Checked all the IC piping cause I thought I had a boost leak 😂 Secondly, does that mean that with the lower boost on colder nights that its still making the same/similar power compared to what it was tuned to? It doesn't make sense in my head as to why that would be true

Is it weird that my car makes 16psi of boost on a hot day, with iat's around 30-35. But when the iat's are 25 or below it makes 12psi at an absolute stretch, seeing 8psi commonly on cold nights and 16psi on hot days. Colder temps means more dense air, means more boost.... Right? 🤣

Sadly their one of the few sites that make it "easy" to order the autoglym professional range of products. I just wish they were honest about their "dispatches in 1-3 business days" promise that's plastered all over their site. I thought lying about stuff like that was illegal in Australia?
