  1. Thanks Puff. So many updates on the car including it’s back off the road again. I should probably update one of the old threads.
  2. so so looking to upgrade my kpm 1000’s and not sure if I should go to the id1300x or id1700x’s anyone it’s experience and powe numbers that care to share? Don’t have the power to max out the bigger ones with my current turbo but who knows where I’ll be in 2 years time and don’t want to buy injectors again so that’s why I’m looking for others experiences.
  3. we should organsie a cruise out to wisemans?? Else maybe wsid in early Jan!
  4. Wow its finally in and started first time this afternoon. Been a while between posts but here is some happy snaps along the way.
  5. Any decisions yet mattyp? Looking forward to see what you do next!
  6. Haha yeah heaps cheaper and just a little more test labish. I Would've gone custom pistons if I wanted it higher comp that bad but the 9.0:1 will be just fine for me!
  7. Thanks for posting the results. I Never woulda guessed a glove in the cooler pipes ?
  8. So I was looking into these as an option of having more power down low. My understanding is lpg ba. 10.7:1 lpg bf-fg 10.3:1 lpg fg mk2 + 12.0:1 I was standing in a a wrecker at Tuggerah ready to load up an egas to a trailer but it was so rusty and covered in oil I didn't want to part with my $500 for it in the end so pulled the pin at the last minute. I don't think there are anyone making forged pistons from 2618 steel over 9.0:1 for the bars? But I have to admit I didn't search too far for the softer composition pistons.
  9. Highest off the shelf that I could find which is 9.0:1. Same as CP pistons.
  10. Parts coming together. Got the rods and main bolts for a great price thanks to eBay 20% off for Father's Day sale!
  11. Most things already suggested cover off the basics and most likely causes unless the turbo's are slightly different and it needs a tune to take that into account. DIfferent exhuast housing, IWG hole and other factors could be impacting you here. Have you tried to put compressed air into the boost solenoid at determine a what point it is opening? if you can do this, taper down the psi to a point where it barely opens and fully opens. How does the installed wastegate compare to your bench unit? Afraid to say it might be time to get it to a tuning shop that can connect up some gear and determine boost, wgdc etc etc.
  12. just looking at the merits and power levels of each of the below flexplate options: intune motorsort - modified standard flexplate which includes reinforcing by a insert welded to the centre - $315 inc ARP bolts atomic - 9mm billet Chrome Moly Flexplate Kit - $594 yellow terra - 10mm billet. excludes bolts - $410 Any opinions on what would be suitable for 550kw and 650kw?
  13. Hi guys,, im looking at a girdle for my engine build and being on a budget every hundred I save on a component really adds up. I wanted to find out if anyone has experience with the below girdles and what power output they were putting out? Atomic - #306254 - Atomic main cap girdle - 10mm thick suit FG-on Ford 6 cyl Street application $ 495.00 Mace Engineering - 10mm Aluminium, MAIN CAP GIRDLE FORD FALCON BARRA XR6 BA BF FG FG X 4.0L 6 CYLINDER $ 350 Spool - 10mm steel. SPOOL XR6 main cap girdle - $425 Procomp Electronics - machined from 1045 steel - $250 Sonic Injection - Manufactured from 10mm Medium Carbon mild steel - $225 I am leaning towards being brand generic with this but up for advice from those with experience?
  14. Yeah e85 is way more forgiving and pretty hard to detonate but run it lean with enough boost and it will detonate. I would like to sit down and work simulate the maths at what point this could happen at, but I'd rather spend time researching components and good stuff and just make sure I don't get that recipe. e85 will pre-ignite if you have the right hot spots and too rich conditions can also cause some bad results for e85. Yeah definetly learnt a stupid lesson I won't repeat. I had also been using and tuning the wastegate all day and it turned out it had a leaking diaphragm and oring. This compounded the problem. So second lesson is triple check used parts before trusting them.
  15. I wont stop DIY tuning if that's what you mean
