  1. True, but I plan to keep the baby for a while so who knows what the future holds. Plus I might go spastic with it in the sense of horsepower or just get enough power to have fun at track days with Initial Drift Aust. So from the responses I've received which have been so helpful I beleive fixin the T5 will be not a total waste of money but pretty pointless if I have plans in the future to mod my BA XR6t. Better now than later and spend more money than necessary. And for the reason of using 5th not often is that it crunches into it so I avoid using it. Maybe that's why I'm gettn bad fuel economy. And I dont give my XR much at all. I lost my license for 5 years and I've had it back for 1 year and a bit and plan to keep it.But I do understand your point
  2. True with the intercooler, you can throw it on anyways as it only reduces air temps before reaching the motor reducing combustion temps and prob more that I dont know about. But getting a full custom tune to get the most of the more efficeint cooler is good but for now your car will love you "so to speak' for throwing the new cooler on. Look at the rice burners out there with huge polished coolers and they are stockers without any tune and they run fine, well not as good as an XR6t.
  3. I just had a look at Mal Wood Auto and what he has to offer and I'm wrapped. I will 99.9% be sure as hell in swapping to the T56 and the OPTION 3 kit. Its just a matter of saving up my money. Also isnt Mal Wood Auto up in Qld, if that's the case I'm a long drive to his workshop, if I swap the box to the 6 speed ,what will I do with the T5?
  4. Thanx a million Jack , I think I can live with the mild crunching until I get the T56. Plus it sounds better having a 6 speed cogswapper. So the clutches and flywheel are bigger or sumthn in the T56 equiped XR's?
  5. Yeah, around here in Bonnyrigg its cloudy cold and raining on and off. Plus I lost my voice due to this stupid f#$!@n cold. Maybe next time
  6. Oh, also forgot to mention, that I brought the car from Australian Fleet Sales. So I dont know if this problem will go under warranty, coz it sounds like a Mk1 Ford thing. If that's the case, how much is that replacement part and would it be worth the hassle or just get the 6 speed, and do they bolt straight up, same clutch, sensor conectings, tailshaft gearbox crossmember the whole shebang? Any mods required to fit it up?
  7. Yeah, it would only crunch say at highway speeds, but the rest of the gears are ok, 3rd is a biatch its not inline, hmm like 3rd and 4th are directly inline so it makes down changing a fight sometimes. I've only had the car for 2 1/2 weeks so I'm still getting acustomed to the new ride. Thnx for the part number coz I might get my mech to fix it while he puts in the new clutch. As for a 6 speeder, what are they called and rough price on them, just for curiousity sake, and if I do go with it, since I'm from the liverpool area somewhere from Sydney would be the go to get the cogswapper
  8. doh, thanx dude, so I guess it would be better to save up the dollars and get a 6 speed (are they called a T56 by the way?).
  9. Hmmm I wonder wat would happen if we had life size remote control XR6 turbo and XR8 cars. I swear officer it wasnt me
  10. Quick question, I dont use 5th gear much in my 2003 BA XR6t but when I do, on the way to work doin bout 80 or so it crunches into 5th but only once if I take it out of 5th then put it back in its ok. Is it a common thing for the cogbox to crunch into 5th? I was told it was but that sounds a bit wrong for it to do so. Any help will be great.
  11. Mate that looks great!! When can you do mine I've got an Alpine CDA9813 deck which I had in my 300zx and I'm itchin to put in the XR6t, along with my Alpine type S 6 inch splits, 5 inch 2 ways, 2 400watt kicker subs. Just the insurance company scares me if I ask them if I can. That setup in my 300zx put out 130db so I think that would be nice in the falcone',but for the mean time I'm just enjoying my new ride
  12. Well, after puttn the 100kw 4AGE into my 1984 corolla and gettn it tuned I hit the M7 with a mate and started at Casula/Liverpool entry point to the near end of it somewhere near Seven Hills, I estimate I did over 210km/hr in it (speedo only went to 180). Tryn to catch a cop at same time too, and didnt catch him, hmmm I wonder how fast he was goin

Hi guys, My mate told me about this forum last year whilst gettn some info on the XR6 Turbo. At that time I was a proud owner of a 1990 model 300zx twin turbo which was farking fast until my neighbour fell asleep at the wheel at smashed into it. I've had some rides before the XR6 turbo like a 1978 corolla coupe built for circuit racing with an 18RG 135rwhp, a 1983 corolla with a 1.5ltr (5k) that revved to 11,500rpm with 110rwhp, and my current corolla 1984 AE71 that just got written off with a 100kw 4AGE. Got tired of old cars so I got the BA XR6 turbo and never will look back, that's until I find an AE86 sprinter so I can put my 2ltr turbo motor I have laying around in it, what can I say I love Toyotas. Until then its XR6 time. And hope to eventually go cruising with you guys. They say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, pretty screwed if your blind
  14. Dudes, it was a true story my 87 rolla went realy well considering I spent bout 1000 bucks on the motor, mild cam took a shyt load off the head to bump the compression up extractors and regraphed dizzy plus a few other mods but overall it looked stock, and yes the road was pretty long about 1.5 kms long, and the fact I went around a roundabout sideways at 120km/hr with the cop that saw me sitting at the lights ahead of me. So yeah, I was pretty much screwed. But it was fun!!! I really got thank you guys first coz this forum and the sponsor sites are great, I'm goin to pay AWC a visit real soon to kit up my BA XR6t. Cheers guys If a jap car can drift, a FORD can do it better Life was meant to be driven sideways
  15. Well, I lost my NSW drivers license for 5 years, 6 years ago for drag racing in my 87 model corolla and tryn to fight the fine in court and lost. That was dumb. Now that I have joined the dark side and got myself an 2003 BA XR6 turbo, considering I like Holdens and Toyotas, Expensive Daewoo just cant stack up to the XR6 turbo. But the dumbest thing I probably even done was do a massive burnout in the main street of Kings Cross and to get away too, that was an achievement Best behaviour now that I have the XR. Long live the turbo's, even if its a FORD
