  1. Is this all completed and driving yet? Been awhile since last post.
  2. its a lot easier than you think. Redrill standard 6cyl corty mounts to suit the 4Ltr. (holes are about 3mm out) Can fit under bonnet no worries with a little bit of work. hardest part is the wiring loom to suit. use all ford parts to do it all. inc ECU with flash tune to remove security.
  3. yeh.. googled the code. and found it used in Ford Forklift's. http://www.tamengines.com/forklift_ford.html just good to see them using these engines in other applications. and its used outside of australia.. in america/canada etc..
  4. Could get one powering a big generator perhaps? GSG-640 Type Inline 6 Cylinder, Water Cooled Fuel* Gasoline Displacement 4.0 L Aspiration Naturally Aspirated Rated Power* 156 HP @ 3200 rpm Emissions EPA/CARB Certified https://ai-engines.com/industrial-engines/ie-ford/wsg-1068/gsg-640
  5. cheers. all my cortys have run t5's and have no dramas throwing one behind a fg donk. I dont do skids or launch excessivly at drags so they handle no worries. havent run into any problems with 25 spline axles either. hopefully the extra power of the fg engine and sensible launches will keep them from snapping.
  6. slight sump mods needed with a tig and a bit of ally. I got a workshop to tig my sump as I dont have one. I just marked it for the fella and he cut and welded and was a perfect fit. Engine mounts you can use standard cortina mounts. either oval a couple holes to suit.. or weld up and re-drill exactly as theyre out about 3mm to match the 4.0L block. and just using a E-series T5 with Mustang Rear Housing bolted to a AU T5 bellhousing does the trick to keep all the structural bolts with the motor and sump and all while using the cable clutch. The BA gearbox's are not suitable for the mustang housing swap as the output shaft is way too long.. but using a XF->EL T5 the swap is a no brainer. heres a pic to compare Mustang Rear housing to a BA XR6 T5 Housing. for the t5 to fit just need to make the shifter hole a bit bigger.
  7. Theyres escort's, VL's and R33's out there with Barra donks in them. just look up Turbowerx on youtube. they drop them in anything and everything.. these things are 1000hp+ running 7-8 sec passes..
  8. a sure way to tell if its FG bottom end.. it would have 2 Dip Stick Locations. one at Front and One at Rear.. Have a look at that and you'll know for sure.
  9. excellent work and pushing serious power. the new paint looks great also. true inspiration to many people who have wondered how this conversion would turn out. any updates on the Escort though ? havent seen anything on that in a long time.
  10. Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me with a measurement of their T5/T56. the box pictured is a ED box.. but using it for demonstational purposes only. 1) Measurement from the face of bellhousing to the center of the shifter 2) Measurement from the face of bellhousing to the rear of the Square bit that the shifter sits in. and if anyone has a XF- EL T5 sitting around.. could they measure that also please. Cheers Tim.
