  1. Silver ones No wait, gold ones! What are they?
  2. Link
  3. That and after some extensive research, increasing the line pressure could fix the issue of dropping out of gear when in tiptronic, bit it didnt so the next step is to replace the valve body, but not untill the next service as it has fresh fluid and filter
  4. Because that solenoid controls how hard the trans shifts, by shifting a little quicker and harder the clutches and bands are doing less work and slip less, thus prolonging the life of the trans
  5. Dropped the pan and filter S5 solenoid is located at the rear on the drivers side, its the big silver one. Remove the plastic 2 wire plug on the back of the solenoid In between the two pins is a gold hex screw (T30 I think) Gave it 1/2 a turn clockwise, I've heard people saying 1/4 isnt enough, 3/4 and sometimes it wont engage first so I went half way Then put everything back together Is it worth doing a write up?
  6. I gave it a service today and adjusted the s5 solenoid and that's taken a second or two out of the shift time which is awesome, but it hasnt done anything for the dropping out. Also shifts nice and firm now!!
  7. As the title states im having issues with the auto dropping out of gear (any gear) when in tiptronic mode, it kicks back into gear when the rpm matches the road speed but as soon as you back off it drops out again. When its cold sometimes does not evem engage drive at all, I have to go to neutral and then back to drive to get it to drop in. Im getting the usual 3-4 second delay into reverse aswell A few people have mentioned "solenoids" but havent really gone into much detail Any ideas?
  8. Blew a cooler pipe, cant see where, guess the front bar is coming off tomorrow :/
  9. You need the H4's, they cover low and high but you still have your separate high beam in the other lense
  10. Finally got the trans temp to work!! Thank you soo much Sorry for the thread revival Now to hunt for engine temp/pressure
  11. Much easier to just relocate the battery. I could knock you something up, or as BRK said get the kit
  12. Got sick of the bubbling paint surrounding the shifter so pulled it out, peeled it off and replaced it with carbon fibre wrap, then washed it...then it rained
  13. Replaced mine today, looks mint as...
  14. You were right Joe, massive split in the TB joiner. Thanks heaps, now to check all the other joints
  15. If cooler pipe had come off it wouldnt boost properly and run like sh*t, but I'll have a good look tomorrow. I did see somewhere that it could just be tired bearings in the turbo :/

    New Members Thread

Hey guys, new here, thought id show my face (figuratively) and say hi just picked up an 03 BA XR6T in Blueprint, got it with a front mount and exhaust, since then ive fitted a battery relocation kit and dash gauges. I previously had an 04 BA MKII XR6T which I had to part ways with sadly plans are for a safe 300atw,Ii have a son due in january so can't go crazy, so injectors, tune and fuel pump should do me for now, and then some aesthetics to make her look pretty. but for now here she is: thanks Karl
  19. that's what I thought, the port on the crossover pipe near the TB is completely blocked off, and it definately sounds like its coming back out of the intake pipe
  20. Hi guys, nice and fresh to the forums, will make a post in the new members thread soon. Recently picked up an 03 BAXR6T with 170xxx on the clock and im having flutter issues...it just won't flutter. I have a custom battery relocation kit and intake done and the factory BOV is blocked. All I get when I back off is one solid shoosh sound. the turbo spools up nice and loud thanks to the intake, but it will only flutter twice (tsutsu) and then whoosh, I know its coming out of the intake. it is running stock boost, but I my old BA MKII used to flutter with a standard intake...any ideas? forgive me if this is common, but my search skills arent what they used to be haha thanks Karl
